Wow, probably rarer than a Chiron. Probably for good reason.

Absolutely no idea what the list price is on these (I know I could have googled!) but there seem tk be plenty of choices around the 26k mark which I guess is a lot of car for the money nowadays

I had a quick look, top spec ....£75k bargain! To be fair, had a look myself now and the hybrid seems to run from around £47 to 57k which is in line with other premium offerings (BMW 5 etc). Still some epic depreciation though!

I struggle to see a gussied up Citroen as premium, judging by the depreciation I'm not alone!

Do PSA cars still have the collosal maintenance costs they used to have? Ownig a non premium brand product but paying premium to keep it sounds a bit daft imho.

Oh - I agree - but they are clearly positioning (or trying to) the car as a luxury choice and directly against BMW/Merc hence the list price comparison. Interesting point re the French car buying habits though - in some ways I admire their patriotism!

Passed one of these today, having never seen one in the metal before (that I'm aware of). A bit spooky if you ask me!

Classic Baader-Meinhof phenomenon
I had been researching Mini's of various types and watched a few reviews of the Clubman (mainly JCW) - I now see them absolutely everywhere local to me!

When the Peugeot 306 was built in the UK nobody in France bought one, the locals went straight from 205's to 405's. And the Smart car is all over Paris as they were built at a French factory. But it pays off for them in the end. Even though in the 1970's many French cars were as crap as their British equivalents, they still got bought and the companies survived (with huge government help of course).

But I would say the same with regards to BL and later Austin and Rover / MG Rover cars. Before they went bust in 2005 they were still being bought in reasonable numbers in the UK despite being well behind the curve against their rivals (particularly the 25/45/ZR/ZS).

To be fair the whole MGR thing was teetering on the brink, what happened during the BMW years still seems illogical. After that it went nuts and some of the projects they went for were real balsy last gasp events. Wonder what would have happened if the new medium size car was actually launched.

If you lived in a German city that made one type of Opel you didn’t buy any Opel made in a different German city.
