Not perhaps the most acceptable view on this but, why did the idiot run from armed police, when the gun is pointed at him?
Did he think it was a joke or something he did not have to take seriously?
Stop the car and argue later would seem to be the logical course of action.

He was a black teenager. Being black he probably thought he wouldn't be treated properly and being a teenager, he just didn't think!

Arab, not black. Police officer idiotic to shoot - career lost over just another lawless member of the dodgy suburbs.
French reaction was as expected. I was born in the month of arguably the best known Paris riots since the storming of the Bastille but when people ask my age and I tell them I was born in the month and year of the Paris riots I could be any age at all.

Problem being that since the Charlie Hebdo killings etc etc, defence/police folk making stupid decisions seems less scandalous.
He must have seen the gun aimed at him but drove off anyway.
