One of our neighbours, a really lovely and very elegant woman in her early 80s who was widowed during the pandemic, has always driven a very splendid silver Jaguar XK on the “right” alloys (20” Senta). Not sure of the year as she has a private plate, but I think around 2007/8 vintage.
I could tell whenever she was passing (we live next to the gates into our development) thanks to the splendid woofle it made as she waited for the electric gates to open.
Alas we shall hear it woofle no more. She has finally traded it in for a far less interesting hybrid Evoque. I gather Battersea Land Rover gave her just £7.5k in part-ex..

You can always check the age of a car on one of the government websites, vehicle info or MoT record. Doesn't matter if it has a non-dating plate, the information will still be there. Was the Jag not low emissions? Probably the main reason it was changed if it wasn't

Always sad to see a good car go - even if not yours. It was such shame that Jag never replaced the XK.
