Well my bestie collected his EV6 on Thursday and showed up in it today. He ordered it Dec 2021. I accused him of dumping his fridge on the road as it white. He wanted the Matt grey one but it was an even longer wait (there are 19 orders made before his that haven’t showed up yet!) and he was lucky because apparently a couple of Matt grey owners have put them in a car wash and the coating has been lashed straight off.
Wait aside, I must say in one word: impressed. Well put together and every toy imaginable (his is the GT Line). There are some places where the materials used are middling but it’s not supposed to be top-end Exec level and isn’t priced as such. Seats are nice and covered in part vegan-leather and part velour-ish cloth (i like the seat fabric to the extent I’m jealous) and also heated and cooled. The ICE interface was a bit meh but I guess you’d get used to it. He’s mainly interested in his golf clubs fitting it and low company car tax and the radio is permanently on Radio 5 Live anyway.
Nice car.

Friend of mine has one as well, in blue. I had a passenger ride in it last year and was also impressed.

They do look rather good and reviews seem to suggest it's a pretty good car with good range for an EV.
I ordered my Octavia a month before he ordered his EV6 and I've still not heard a peep out of Skoda as to whether they're any closer to building it so he can't really moan about his 13 month wait.

Kia are on a roll at the minute . I love the look of most of their cars and the interiors are top notch too

Did Kia not steal the top Audi designer a few years ago? The design language is much more acceptable to the European eye than the likes of BMW's designs which appear to have been created purely for the Asian market with two fingers up to Europeans. The EV6 is on the list to look at for the i-Pace replacement but we have been offered a deal to extend the lease for a year which looks very good and is about £250/mth cheaper than getting a new one!!

The Koreans - Hyundai and Kia - are definitely on a roll both design wise and technology wise with their EV offerings. I guess their lack of a real design history has allowed them to be more daring. Whereas at the moment, the Germans idea of being daring with their EV ranges are either stick an ever bigger grille on the front (Audi), make them look like they took a bicycle pump to the ICE designs (Merc) or just plain ugly (BMW XM).

Think I preferred the look of the Citroën XM to the BMW one!

The Koreans don't have a huge presence in China, and have a complicated relationship there, so they (perhaps rightly) don't see the need to pander to Chinese tastes too much, instead focusing on the somewhat more sophisticated European and American markets.
