High profile racer and social media driver was killed in a snowmobile crash.
I’ve never really paid attention to him but he had a very high profile in motorsport circles.

His gymkhana stuff was legendry. watch the early ones, as the later all became a bit too sponsored and professional. Decent rally driver too if not exactly Seb Loeb. Odd how these dare-devil types seem to survive the high risk day job but end up losing their lives in very normal situations. RIP

I was shocked when I saw the news this afternoon. I've been following him off-and-on for well over 10 years. Very sad news indeed, seems he was a great bloke as well s probably having the finest car control skills of anyone. I took this at the closing ceremony of Wales Rally GB in Cardiff in November 2011, I got a signed poster of him too (they were being handed out by the dozen then, as he wasn't very well known in the UK at the time), however I seem to recall it got torn and I binned it a few years later :-(

A great shame. I really enjoyed watching his early Subaru Impreza antics.

I reckon he was the motoring icon for loads of newer younger millennials. Those who grew up in the 2000s and are into cars, more than likely it was because of him. In a sense he was like how Colin McRae was to people like me (those who grew up in the 90s).
RIP. Sad way to start the new year.
