And a Happy New Year from me too.
One of Mrs WW's inspirational and calming on line monks had this in one of his talks and I've been trying to keep it in mind as it seems apt for a new year...
Accept that we can not change the past. Happiness is found within. Kindness is free. You do not fail unless you quit.
I don't know if he came up with that himself or if it was part of Monking apprenticeship. Either way, well said I think.
Wishing all health and happiness and hoping we and all our loved ones are here next Xmas time.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year. After a Christmas 'break' of travelling to see family, hosting and going away for New Year, I am ready for a break to get over the 'holiday'.

Best wishes to everyone for 2023 and I hope it is a slightly less tumultuous year than 2022 was!

Oh, there are lots of them and they clearly value production values a with very slick, well produced and very professional looking end product. I suppose this is how it has to be as they're competing in a global market not only containing cute cats, funny dogs and shuffle dancing lovelies but also and crucially they face competition from other Monks and not only Monks, representatives from the other belief system too and all are active in a global marketplace. These days a Monk needs not only a good message to deliver but also a well designed and produced hi tech message delivery system. This always takes me back to my first meeting with a Thai Monk who nodded politely as I smiled and said "Hello" and then addressed only the then future Mrs WW... Monk "Where is your friend from." TTFMrsWW "The UK." Monk "When is he going home?" That made me laugh. Anyway, I think some of these vids are worth watching as another coping and calming tool even for non Buddhists and the ones I've seen have always been just about impeccable, message wise. Not that I'm going to convert Anyone wanting something to read rather than watch could download this book as a pdf... as another coping tool... and it is an easy read. Or, "Non refert quam ieiunium in rectis, si vos non potest ut per anguli.". I believe this was what prompted Dyson to introduce the revolutionary Ball Dyson. I have one.

I get to try some really useful phrases (not) on my German course.....
Warum fehlt das Meerschweinchen wieder?
(Why is the guinea pig absent again?) I do find it quite quaint that the Germans use capital letters at the start of every proper noun

Nice to see your frogeye in another thread The most I've ever worked anywhere is 12 years, did that twice.
