As I was driving in to work this morning I was aware of a Police car a few cars behind who then manoeuvred his car to right behind me. We went through a complicated junction and he was still behind as we came out on to a long straight piece of 30mph dual carriageway. The Police car then pulled out, came alongside and put his lights on. I looked across and the driver gave me a thumbs up and the passenger gave me the thumb and index finger sign, they then put their lights off and disappeared up the road at a bit more than 30mph.

Conversely as I drove to work this morning a fat bastard copper in a van pulled across in front of me and gave me a dirty look. I actually had to stop to let this cretin clear my side of the road. Granted I was only doing 20 initially but even so all he was doing was crossing the road to then wait at a red light.

Was it a traffic car? I had one who was very enthusiastic about the Spec.B when I was parked outside daughter school (Glasgow Academy) one afternoon. I thought he wanted to give me a row at first, but it was simply to confirm it was actually a Spec.B and compliment me on my choice of car!

Maybe they have aspirations of being in Traffic.

I generally find police officers are friendly, but living in a small town you get to know them and plenty that I see will wave "hello".
