The rewriting of the 2021 championship result is never going to happen. The FIAs excuse that it was human error is a poor one designed to point the finger squarely at Masi and state that it was in no way was it anything to do with the pressure of all the pre race marketing billing it as the race of the century making him desperate to try and put on some sort of show at the end. But it is made incredibly unpalatable when we now have confirmation that RB were cheating.
It should also be remembered that this is now also going to massively damage Red Bulls reputation. This season has been a massive turn off as their car is just able to waltz off into the distance even when they start in the final third of the grid. The pace advantage they have over the rest of the field is ridiculous which will start people thinking that maybe they're at it again. And if they are we won't know until this time next year when we'll almost be at the end of the 2023 season.
It's all just messy and doesn't make me want much more to do with the sport. But as we've seen with the upcoming World Cup being held in the great historic footballing nation of Qatar, most big international sports have been spoilt by those who just want to make shit loads of money from it.

The COTA crowd showed what they thought: comparing the cheer for Verstappen with the roar for Hamilton says it all when the former was the race winner and allegedly Americans love a winner.

Cyclists and runners who have subsequently been found to have been cheating have been stripped of their victories/titles........

Seems all the team principles are relatively happy with the outcome therefore in real terms i suspect that the punishment is worse then anticipated by those teams.
At first I thought it was a lightweight penalty but the for a 400k overspend they’ve received some heavy fines and quite a restriction i aero development.
Let’s be honest if it was Alfa Romeo or McLaren with the overspend then nobody would give a monkeys. I don’t think 400 grand made a difference to the result of last year. The Merc was pissing all over the RB by the end of the season.

I have so much faith in the FiA that I very much doubt the figure released is genuine but then the massi moment causes a certain amount of resentment.
Let them eat cake, as long as we tell them which cake.
