So we finally moved into our new house today after waiting for 16 weeks to get a mortgage, thanks to the banking industry going in the completely opposite direction to their previous “loans for everyone” stance pre 2008, but I digress.
I booked a van to move with. Everything was packed up and ready to move so it should be reasonably straight forward.
My extra large van was waiting for me on arrival and I noticed that it was a Mercedes Sprinter, but when the paperwork was being done, the kind gentleman in Enterprise asked me if a slightly smaller van would work because my van had been crashed by the previous renter…
So my Mercedes turned into a VW Crafter, and my rental bill shrunk too.
The van is absolutely fine.
The Diesel engine is a bit loud but pulls well at all revs. The cabin is bare, like 2005 bare. I was surprised that there is no FG in it at all, maybe with the exception of electric mirrors.
The view out of it is fantastic- you can see anything on the road and it handles well too.
Anyway, I have it until tomorrow. Should be able to get a bacon butty and a copy of the sun newspaper first thing before driving it with gusto and no indicators. Looking forward to that…
