We have goats! No, they don’t eat everything; yes they are good at escaping. They’re friendly little things and we haven’t had to buy milk since they arrived - we are the land of milk and honey.

I like goats, even with their weird alien eyes. Do they have names?

I like goats, even with their weird alien eyes. Do they have names? They do have weird eyes. This is so that they can see a wide field of vision with an unusually small blind spot. They do have names, we didn’t name them, it’s a bit of an issue.

Welcome, stranger!
Herself will be jealous if/when I tell her - she adores goats, and if we had the space, I just know there'd be one or two keeping the horse(s) company!

Cool. Alas I’m so urban that even the thought of unpasteurised goat’s milk makes me shudder.

Cool. Alas I’m so urban that even the thought of unpasteurised goat’s milk makes me shudder. I was a bit like that but not anymore. In raw form, and fresh, it tastes the same as cows milk but it’s much better for you.

Rather more practical than a house cow I suspect. Although what happens when their lactation ends?

Rather more practical than a house cow I suspect. Although what happens when their lactation ends? Send for Billy! They lactate for three years so Billy is booked. We built capacity for 6 in total. The viewing of Billy goats was an eye-opening experience. I won’t go into the disgusting details but some Billy goats grow udders and can be milked.

Also, you haven't smelled anything until you have smelled the gut churning stench of an old billy goat.
