A few hours early but here goes.
Prompted from watching those compilation videos on YouTube of dash cam footage, what’s the weirdest or most unusual thing you’ve seen while driving somewhere?
While I’ve seen a few, the one that stands out was when I had just started driving and was rounding a right hand bend on a dual carriage way at about 50mph when I saw a wheel bouncing towards me from the other side. It missed the car and I saw the unfortunate owner of a Mk 3 Escort stop on the other side trying to figure out how to get his wheel back while being glad it missed all the oncoming traffic.

The most unusual thing I have seen whilst driving is a car coming straight at me on the wrong side of a dual carriageway whilst I was in the outside lane. Fortunately there was a gap between cars in the inside lane and I was able to take avoiding action before pulling over and dialling 999 to report a wrong-way driver to the police. The person in the control room had no idea of the area I was in, and I never heard anything on the local news about a head-on crash so I hope that they reached to point where the road became "normal" before colliding with anyone

I've seen the wrong way driver heading onto the A38 once and oop norf somewhere near Catterick a long time ago. The oddest must go to the TVR driver in Guildford, he was next to me at the lights at night with not much traffic around even then. He looks over at me, sneers and, as the lights change boots it. Straight into the back of the Transit half pickup. He hit is hard enough to split the body of the TVR right down the middle but he seemed OK. After stopping to check and making sure he was getting assistance to move his car/was safe, I left. How much a new body on a TVR whatever?

IN Bangladesh we were on a very wide road 6 or 7 lanes wide in Dhaka and there was a cement barrier between the two sides.Ahead of us a bus crashed and turned over, all the cars in front of us just turned round and started driving back the wrong way.(imagine it being the M6 or similar and all the cars doing uturns)
Similar in Beijing we were crossing a roundabout on foot and one car started going round the roundabout the wrong way,the amazing thing was all the cars behind her started doing the same thing.
But the most amazing thing was in Germany coming back to the hotel from a trade show,we stopped at a petrol station and we heard this incredible screeching.A car skidded along the road and proceeded to crash into a barrier then flip over onto its roof and ended up with the front of its bonnet on one side and the edge of it boot the other side of a big ditch which ran parallel to the road. The 'cockpit ' so to speak was undamaged and the driver completely unharmed (he fell asleep at the wheel). It was like something you see in a cartoon an inch either side and the car would have dropped top first into the ditch.
Almost forgot the time we were backpacking through Egypt ,staying in a place called Dahab which was then just some mud huts.We had run out of money and were going into israel and needed to get to the bus terminal .We managed to persuade 2 girls to pay for the only taxi in dahab ,the taxi driver was maybe 10 years old,he had two wooden blocks tied to his feet using some string so that he could reach the pedals.

A dump truck coming the other way down a single lane (each way) road from me had his wheels slightly off the road and onto the grass, and it subsequently tipped over sideways, bizarrely in kind of slow motion with the poor driver helpless inside.
I honestly did not know how to react as I stared at the truck in shock. Within seconds however a smaller truck pulled up behind, containing what seemed to be the driver's colleagues, and they proceeded to render assistance (the driver was unhurt, just a bit stunned). My presence wasn't helpful apparently so I slowly left the scene, still in disbelief at what I just saw.

In Cuba, a guy riding a motorbike with a full sized pig (alive) across his shoulders and one hand holding two of the pigs feet in front of his chest.
A couple of years ago as I headed towards the Clyde Tunnel in the outside lane of the 40mph, then 30mph dual carriageway, I met a black Audi A3 going the wrong way in the outside lane right on a corner. Thankfully there was no-one directly beside me in the inside lane and I was able to swerve out the way.
I can only presume they took the wrong slip road, perhaps after a visit to the deathstar hospital and instead of going through the tunnel and finding somewhere to turn round, they turned right onto the wrong carriageway in some moment of madness or complete ineptitude.

I must say the examples here blow anything I’ve seen out of the window.
I saw a nun in full regalia riding a Raleigh Chopper against the wind in Tooting in the early 90s.

I was on the A1 northbound in the horse lorry just north of Scotch Corner. A lorry passed me and the old fashioned Rice Richardson horse trailer in front of me and it must have spooked the horse inside because when it moved, the partition pin snapped and the horse lurched to one side.
I saw two wheels of the trailer leave the ground, come back down and the opposite side do the same thing. The old Volvo 740 that was pulling it was getting snaked about all over.
I was straddling the white line at this point with my hazards on to create a rolling roadblock as I thought the outfit was going over.
Volvo man got it back under control and pulled onto the hard shoulder and I followed him to make sure everything apart from the state of their underwear was OK.
He wanted to repair the trailer on the hard shoulder but I managed to persuade him not to and offered him a place at our yard just off the next junction. He declined but did pull off the motorway at the next junction to sort it.

We once got 10 people into a Fiat Panda and only 1 fell out when we eventually got moving, does that count.

A guy I worked with years ago was out driving in another colleagues town and he commented that he’d seen an old VW beetle out for a drive and there was a calf in the back of it. The other colleague said he knew the guy and it was how he regularly transported his calves from one place to another!
