That does look good, even if the description currently says "saloon".... but the price......

BMW must just love fucking with their fans.
They finally do an M3 Touring (that everybody has been clamoring for for ever), just as their styling goes completely to shit. Do ze Germans understand irony I wonder?

With the necessary additional packs the price is likely to be c£93K which is completely and utterly mad. BMW have removed most of the finance options from their site but if you look at the used cars, a June Registered M4 has a GFV of just over £32K after 4 years and it wouldn't have cost much less than the M3 Touring when new. So that's a £60K bath over 4 years - that's going to cost c£1250/mth + a deposit!! I know it's not a touring but this offers so much more value and has the ultimate pack (every box ticked): usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202205276216085?quoteref=6e5f8ae3-cb64-426c-a169-4c17e5adb4ed

The M3 Touring they sent to Goodwood was specced so every customer would be happy when they specced any other colour. This is revolting.

Do ze Germans understand irony I wonder? This ^^. Although I think the nose looks fractionally less abysmal on the Touring bodyshell than the saloons/coupes. Chalk resembles the Crayon that Porsche does and which is equally hideous.

Chalk. Dirty white that they've saved money on by not having to put as much white pigment in. And for which no doubt they charge extra. Re the M3 / M4 nose. It does look better than the 4 series non-M one as at least it is recessed and integral to the bumper, so looks like it was meant to be there. As opposed to just stuck on like tr non-M one does. But even so, that's searching for something positive to say.

That “chalk” M5 looks a billion times better finish than the M3 at FoS. That literally did look like they’d forgotten to put it through the paint shop for the final pass.

BMW's Grigio Telesto is similar. Sounds exotic, its expensive - its ultimately chalk grey. Not sure why someone would want to pay extra to make their car look worse, especially considering the choice of colours you can have on Individual. Each to their own....
Great that an M3 Touring is finally being made, although it comes at the wrong time. Towards at the end of the ICE-era, where increasingly ICE performance versions are being produced in limited volumes, that keeps the CO2 fleet down whilst also being profitable for the manufactures. I fear the Touring will be limited in production, and won't be used as its intended anyway. More "look at me I have an M3 estate". Barley used examples, then flipped for a premium - much like the rest of todays market!

Great we have the choice of an M3 Touring at last but its all a bit too little too late, especially when its such a poorly designed car. I wonder if no one will buy the car and BMW will say they were always right not to build one. Not that its the wrong product at the wrong time. An E46 or E92 M3 touring is still something that I wish was available

At £90K, I think BMW have already made the decision it is going to be a rare car!

A fast BMW family wagon is something I should be excited about, but it’s a mess and I’m not just talking about the obvious. I thought it might change when I saw videos / one for real, but there’s no ‘want’ at all, even ignoring the £90k price tag. It will be all over YouTube, then the market will be full of them at a premium….which is another switch off for me.

Its not just the grille is it? the round door handles, poorly grafted on extended wings and ducts, the too aggressive rear diffuser the dodgy Vossen style rims. Its just looks very after market and the choice of colour at launch was a mistake. If you get one in a very dark colour it will hide most of the design issues. I do quite like the purple too so its not a total loss.

The way the rear doors stop and then the rear wing starts looks particularly aftermarket to me and I don’t think any colour will save it!

I really dislike the massive underbite rear bumper. Obviously the front is hideous too and as Martin says the rear wing is a mess.
Maybe in a few years I'll have one but only if a dark colour hides all of the above.

As Martin says the rear door on to rear quarter is a real mess. When I drove the M3 at Silverstone my eye kept getting drawn to that part of the car for all the wrong reasons.

That Chalk 'colour' looks awful. Just looks like a white car that's well overdue the Chris Martin treatment. The front grill from the 4 series just doesn't suit the 3 in either saloon or estate form (not that i like that grill but at least the 4 was designed with it) The Alpina looks so much better but good luck getting hold of one.

I drove a new m3 rwd the other day,was not impressed although a big chunk of that was lack of traction which the 4wd would sort (but also the autobahn steering was just not nice)
