An elderly aunt has had to give up driving - I'm taking care of selling her car - a 14 year old Hyundai i10 with 37,000 on the clock.
I'll try advertising it on FB first but the We buy any car price is not too bad - BUT anyone used them? I'd have to travel 50 miles (so 150 miles including taking the car there and someone to come with me to drive me home) - how much do they 'fault find' to knock the offer down?
And how much negotiation is there? - if I say, "look it's the price you told me or I'm taking it away again", do they give in or say, "Ok, bye"

I know they are on commission to knock down the price they offer online. That said, I've been told that if you're scrupulously honest on the condition when asking for the quote, they will generally hold firm on it.
Motorway seem to offer the best prices.

I was speaking to someone over the weekend who had recently used WBAC and he got a better price than Motorway. They didn't knock him down on price when he took the car in and the guy there said they weren't incentived to get the price down, they are paid a small amount extra if they get the condition accurate to incentives them to check the car properly. So as Bob says, you should be fine if you are completely honest
I've heard good things about motorway, but with the market softening a bit and dealers stock increasing prices won't be as good as they were a couple of months ago.
Carwow is another option, works the same way as Motorway.

Just picked it up and it needs a bit of valeting work to make it saleable (or prevent the price being knocked down), so may well go with Motorway.

When I sold the Focus I got £1500 more through Motorway. Remember Motorway will give you a bottom price when they quote but you only get the actual price once their internal auction ends. They offered me something like £8500 as a minimum but actually achieved £9760 as the car was popular amongst the dealers they use.
You need to be very acurate with motorway on its condition as you are appraising the car. If the winning dealer comes to collect the car and its not as described they will either chip you or walk away,

I used WBAC last year. I didn’t self declare issues (wheel damage, the odd scuff) and when appraised he took off less than I would have declared.
It was pissing down with rain which probably helped. I think it would very much depend on the appraiser.
Motorway get a lot more detail and loads more photos.

Its taking a lot more to prepare it for sale than I thought on first look - it’s a very sound and straight car but I don’t think she ever hoovered or cleaned the interior. Good job I have a titan as my car hoover - the carpets were so ingrained I had to pressure wash them and then hoover out all the water - but with a really good scrub up of the hard plastics and pressure washing all the mats as well, it’s looking much more like a 37,000 mile car than a 14 year old car if you know what I mean. Half machine polished now, paint arriving tomorrow to do the bumper scuffs and new wheel trims on the way, and it’ll be ready for sale or going with Motorway - not sure which to do yet.

I've admittedly not had cause to use these services but my boss recently went through them to get quotes to sell his elderly parents car as they've gone into a care home and he found a local second hand car dealer round the corner from their flat offered him £500 more and paid him cash on the spot. So could be worth speaking to a local place and see if they can offer you a decent price. Save you driving 50+ miles to WBAC

All that hard work for nothing ! It was fun to do and the result was very satisfying so it's OK - plus my Aunt was delighted to see it looking better than she ever remembered it - she and my uncle (who died last year, hence me helping her with things car and building related) bought it when it was a year old as mobility started to affect their choice of car - having owned things such as lovely classic Sunbeam Rapier, an MG Midget, a trio of Rover P6 3500s and a few Citroen CX's.

Great job there! There is a lot of pleasure in getting a car that has been neglected back in some sort of decent shape. And yes, we are sad, I know. When I sold my SIL's Corsa for her several years ago, getting it properly clean (inside and out) and polished, for the first time in its life probably, was strangely satisfying.

Wonder if I'd run into any issues if I tried to register a website named "WeBuyAnyMeerkat.com" ??
