Renewal arrived today - drop of £50 on the Scirocco (almost nudged below £200 which includes protected NCD and breakdown cover) and a drop of £30 on the Elgrand. Boat insurance also arrived and that dropped by £50 too. Nice to have when all we ever hear of is big price increases.

Below £200....I wish!
Although mine has come down a lot over the last few years, I was well over £1,000 but last year it had dropped to £682. Just had my renewal through this morning, £651 so going in the right direction but a quick check online showed a couple of polices at £598/£599 and my current provider at £603. Went onto their online chat and they offered £548.72. A little annoyed that I didn't get their best price first time around, but it's much less hassle to stick and it saves £50 over moving so I'm not that annoyed!
I do think that's a pretty good price when you take into account the theft risk, £75k value, 20k miles a year and full business use for both of us.

The Elgrand dropped to £293 which I was still pleased with considering there's four named drivers in their early 30's on it and that also includes protected NCD and breakdown cover. It's no where near worth £75k though

Aren't there new rules now that state they must give you their best price on renewal - i.e. the same price they would give a new customer (even though they beat that in the end)

Indications are that my younger daughter is in fora nice surprise with her renewal too, despite being involved in the cash-for-crash scam. She paid over £1000 last year; renewal is at the end of this month and on the Meerkat site she's looking at under £700, and with a decent, reputable company (not Admiral or one of its offshoots again)

My Benz insurance renewal has come through at £291, compared to £329 last year. Glad to see at least something is coming down in price.

My renewal came through last week, an increase of 50% from £400ish to £600ish, which is just not cricket, even with 3 recent points for speeding. The Meerkats chucked me an offer of £380 with Sheila's Wheels, so a 10 minute call back to Hastings to explain that I wouldn't be accepting their renewal and I got it down to equal footing. Now I don't have to change, send off no-claims and generally piss around. That's 4 years now with the same insurer, must be a record for me.

I've looked at Sheila's Wheels in the past but didn't fancy the hassle of the accompanying sex change.
