Any recommendations? Any company I should avoid? I always book direct with Heathrow, via TopCashback to save a couple of £, 7-8% iirc. You can cancel / amend right up to the day before departure for free and you can’t get the official car parks any cheaper elsewhere. I usually go for short stay (it’s what I’ve done for 15 days this August) as it’s worth not having to wait around for a bus. If you’re going from T5 then I’d usually recommend the Pods, but they’ve switched to a minibus now and aren’t running them for some reason, but have kept the price the same so definitely avoid them now. I think valet/meet & great is a bit cheaper than short stay, while still giving you the benefits of parking right by the terminal.

Thanks Martin. Going from T3. Have used Purple Parking valet parking in the past, with a company car. The car always came back intact, but being more fussy now with my own Benz.
ETA: absolutely not interested in a remote location / standing around for a bus option.

When we flew to Lisbon from T3 we Parker with NCP terminals 2-3 flight path.
Short bus hop into terminal but advantage of parking car yourself and keeping keys....

I parked in Luton for work a few weeks back and there were two cars ‘racing’ up the ramps…..

In the few years pre covid I'd been using the T5 short stay carpark after an incident when the Fiesta got damaged in Pod parking, supposedly under CCTV cover but it turns out that the cameras are only on the barrier area, none on the car park area itself. However my boss is currently away and it seems Heathrow are having a bit of a laugh with all their parking prices compared to 2 years ago. I'd check out Purple Parking; my boss left his car at work and got an Uber in, and will get an Uber back to work to collect his car on his return.
I'm 25 minutes drive from the T5 car parks, but a week's short stay parking charges used to be only a little more than the cost of taxis to the airport and back. Leaving the car there means that if flights are delayed (or, unlikely, early) there's no issue with having to contact a taxi company to amend times - or hanging around waiting if the taxi has broken down or is late

No help to you as I’ve always got the tube when I’ve flew from LHR, but Where are you off to?

Short stay. Walk to terminal. I did it last week at T5 to go to Nice.

Like Jeff, I only ever use the official Heathrow parking and the short stay option, or at a push the pod parking option.

I use the official heathrow parking website, meet and greet parking. You drop off at short stay and they take the car somewhere, and when you return it is there waiting for you.Used the last 8 holidays and no issues at all.
