My work laptop is switched off and put away until next year, there is a goose in the fridge and nearly all the presents are wrapped. Time to sit back and chill for a while.
Our New Year plans are going to have to change since Herself's sister's family have just tested positive for the lurgy, but we have some good alternatives to consider. Christmas day will be the four of us here, then Boxing Day a big gathering at my brother's farm, with yet more food, drink and possibly a clay shoot.
Whatever you are doing for Christmas, my hope is that it is a good one and here's to a positive and uplifting New Year.

Merry Christmas everyone. Regardless of one's circumstances, I hope you all have a good one and a great New Year.
We are having friends around Christmas Day for food after a little socialising in the local.

Merry Christmas all!
Hoping the season brings good times to all.
I’ve got a few dates with a decent bottle of 12 year old single malt over the coming weeks that I’m looking forward to, especially since they’ve closed the pubs here at 8pm every night due to Covid protocols.

Merry Christmas to all of you too. We're off to the mother in laws on the big day then going for a long walk on boxing day to work it off. Then Monday we're off to spend three nights at a holiday cottage near Stratford upon Avon where so long as Boris doesn't lock us down, we plan to do the Shakespeare museums, Warwick Castle and the Lap of Lights at Silverstone. Beats doing bugger all at home for the week.

Already at in-laws and today is our Christmas Day. The usual stress of keeping kids occupied whilst we miraculously fill under the tree with presents after dinner awaits. Yesterday I had physio from an ancient Czech sports coach in an old football stadium. On the wall was a photo of Arnie in 1975; the guy was chain smoking using a candle to light each fag; then used a blow torch to heat the suction cups onto my spine. This is where they got the idea for that film Hostel.
I now await the results of blood tests also taken and an MRI scan on 29th. All just checks. In the meantime I can think of what to write about the hire car.
Aaaaanyway……. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, although I think Christmas is much less a religious thing than a family thing for most. Enjoy.

Finished work after a ridiculously busy shift at midnight. Now have 3 days off, back in on Monday. Just the three of us here today and tomorrow. Boxing Day Heidi and her fella are over in the late afternoon. New Year's Eve is being spent with our neighbours. As I'm seeing my parents next week I've decided to avoid any big gatherings.
Merry Christmas all of you. Have a good one!

Still working today, but hopefully will be able to stop early afternoon as we should have everything in store by then. No work at all tomorrow, then will be on call right the way through, but hope the team have everything covered off and there aren’t any issues so I can have a fairly quiet one! Supermarket distribution at Christmas….it’s crazy.
Will be great to have all 3 kids with us for Christmas, BIL and family on Boxing Day and my Parents Monday/Tuesday.
Hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year!

Merry Christmas all.
Dog walk this morning then off to the eldest's for the rest of the day, her Exec Head Chef partner isn't working so he's cooking and he's bloody good, looking forward to the beef Wellington. Nice not to host for once.
Boxing day we are at my sisters in the afternoon, haven't seen them or my mum, who'll be there, for months, plenty of times we've arranged things but them all catching the covids at different times each scuppered any plans.
Enjoy yourselves everyone.

It has always had to be Turkey for me on Christmas day, which is much nicer since we discovered our local butchers bacon wrapped Turkey crown, which was perfectly cooked again yesterday.
But on any other day, I’d love that Beef Wellington, it’s one of my favourites
