Booked through BA at a bargain price, the highest category they offered, which is fine as we’re unlikely to even do 100 miles. I always prefer independence on holiday, but the main reason was not having to worry about hotel cars / taxis and toddler seats.
It’s actually OK. Slightly strange spec as in most ways it’s pretty basic (plastic steering wheel, no Nav and even worse, no CarPlay) but it has 19” alloys and cruise control which a basic S in the UK doesn’t have. The two most important things about it are a big boot and decent aircon.
It drives OK, it’s pretty comfortable, all the controls are light and easy to use. I can’t believe it has 130ish bhp though and the 7k red line suggests it might have a bit of go if you persist with the revs, but it’s pretty slow. Not really an issue though as we’re not travelling around too much on this holiday.
Part of me wishes I hadn’t spotted the price and booked a V6 Charger, or maybe something a bit more interesting.
But, in summary….it’s OK
