From the side, from the door back there is more than a hint of 911 about it to my eyes.
I don't dislike it but I wouldn't/couldn't buy one over a 911.

I quite like that. I can imagine it being popular with the Hollywood wives. I’m amused to see the accompanying literature refers to the back of the passenger compartment as seating. .

I was amused to see it described as a 911 competitor. So’s a golf buggy on the basis it has 4 wheels…..

I'm a sucker for an older SL but everything since the misbegotten facelift of the noughties one has been a munter.
This looks better but I'm not especially overwhelmed. I'd rather have a hard-top early AMG GT - the pre-toothy grille version - those I do like.

I chatted to one of the instructors at Mercedes World about those and he said they were a handful: they were very darty and you never felt in full control especially in the wet when the rear end was always trying to overtake. |

It looks too sporty and AMG GT-like IMO. An SL should be a classy grand tourer.

hmm,reports said the range (all 2 models) would start at 100k ,the SL55 is 150k and the 63 is 180k ...are they insane ?
