Well, after weeks of faffing around, not deciding if I really wanted to or not, what car I would really like vs what was affordable, yesterday saw me take delivery of the replacement for the mighty Skoda.
No pics as yet I'm afraid, but it's a Kia Optima estate in Gravity Blue, which is a very dark blue, almost black.
Nothing very exciting about the spec, sadly; 1.7l diesel putting out 139 horses through a 7-speed auto box. Lots of touch screen action, but the main controls for heating etc are still buttons or rotary dials thankfully. Dynamically it isn't the 'last word', but as I've said elsewhere, 99% of my travels these days are either for work, with Herself (who hates my driving even remotely quickly!) or a boot full of model planes, all of which demand a more sedate driving style than I was used to with previous cars.
Still contemplating another bike at some point to satisfy the liking for something a bit quick, but happy with this for the time being.

They're a good looking car. Are they as huge as they look in the pictures?

I recommended one to a lady in Lindsays team about a year ago (while persuading her that she didn't need an SUV) and she's been really happy with it.

Having now had a good look online at what one looks like, I really like the rear 3/4. Very sporty looking and yet still darned spacious.

They're a good looking car. Are they as huge as they look in the pictures? Not quite I wouldn't say, but quite big! A good bit lnger than the Octaiva, and a touch wider too I think. Having now had a good look online at what one looks like, I really like the rear 3/4. Very sporty looking and yet still darned spacious. Herself reckons the boot space is as large as her Superb was - so, damn big!

The boot isn't quite as big, but it's almost exactly the same size as a Superb

My neighbour has one and quite likes it. They're normally pretty well equipped too with plenty of toys.

Good solid choice of practical motoring. Well built, looks good and loads of warranty left. What more do you need, well apart from the V6 from the Stinger

I really like these, for a while one was on the list to replace the SAAB, but I got turned to the dark side.
