I'm guessing I'm probably the least likely from this forum to have been a fan of his. But when I first returned from China and was bumming around at home jobless, I came across clips of Cats Does Countdown on YouTube, and ended up getting hooked pretty quickly. Sean Lock especially had me buckled over in laughter repeatedly, and I subsequently signed up for an account on Channel 4's website specifically just to watch old episodes (with a VPN of course).
I spent many hours during the pandemic watching a lot of his stuff, and it most definitely helped me get through some challenging times.
Really sad that he's gone. RIP.

I agree Ben. He was able to be funny in a very subtle way and I will miss him too. It's always sad when someone gets their life cut short in such an abrupt manner.

Comedy Genius, loved his delivery and was lucky enough to see him live on a couple of occasions.

Genuinely upset at his passing. Properly funny without being too crude. Delivery drier than Bond’s favourite martini.
ETA: I was going to suggest the challenging wank clip as one of comedy’s finest moments.

I didn't know of him (I don't watch the TV); I was more upset last week-end when Nanci Griffith's passing was announced

I didn't see a great deal of his stuff, but the clips I have showed he had the most wonderful, dry, so very British, way of putting things across. Way, way more funny that any of the shouty people who think they are funny. A tragedy has got taken so young.

She has a fine voice but, Sara has a term for that style which is Pratchettian. Cut your own throat music after the character (CMOT honourably D'Blah). I think you need something a bit more upbeat myself. Sorry if I am treading on toes.

I spotted him a couple of years back going for a run near Primrose Hill. Must admit he wasn't a go-to comic for me but when I did see him, usually on a panel show, he always come out with some cracking jokes. It's sad to see him pass of such an illness.
