Last night, i got a sense of why some drivers might pull out and get T boned by a motor-bike. I came to a junction to turn right on to the main road. I looked right and saw a motorbike coming towards me but he was a good distance away and had it been a car I would probably have pulled out with no drama at all. What stopped me pulling out was that I thought the bike had his full beam on, so I waited. I am very glad I did because the reason his headlight looked so bright was that the nose of the bike was up and he had the throttle nailed. I reckon he passed me at somewhere between 120 and 150mph but what is scary is that from first glance and the head on perspective there was no way to judge the speed he was going. Life could so easily be turned upside down by the smallest of decisions. Drive safely guys.

My sister was T boned by a biker many yonks ago. Only an old Nissan 120 but the B pillar was pushed nearly to the transmission tunnel, she still has issues with her back even now.

Even as a (ex now, realistically) biker, it has to be said that some folk simply do themselves no favours nor, by extension, the rest of us. Glad you're OK John.

Yeah speed has a time and a place and neither is on a straight road with junctions at 90°. The best thing about bikes is the lunacy of going round corners. Straight line speed is just dull.

Speed limits don’t apply to bikers.
