I know I’m driving much more this year but I’m seeing car crashes on a weekly basis now and have wondered if it’s due to so many people getting back on the roads again. Today’s was a large pickup and hgv that had been smashed up. The hgv was on its side. Both drivers looked to be ok as the pickup was hit from behind. In the past weeks, I’ve seen crashes happen, cars on fire, trucks through railings, fender benders, Thinking back, it’s been more than one a week.
These are all on multi lane roads- 3-6 lanes wide.
I’m typically doing about 7-800 miles a week. Is this unusual to see so many?

Saw another crash yesterday. I was in the Alameda tunnel and the traffic slowed in my lane, the car in front of me didn’t realise this and swerved to miss the car in front of it, tried to go through a gap that didn’t exist and then crunch. Hit the rear quarter of the Chevy Volt. The white mpv then drove on, I assumed to keep the traffic moving. I took a photo as it drove away, the Volt driver and it both kept going when they left the tunnel. I changed lanes and saw a big 12” dent in the rear bumper and looked at the driver who seemed to be completely stoned! Considering the noise and how his car moved when it was hit, I can’t believe he was not following the other car afterwards.

His mum will be annoyed when she sees the state of her car!
I can't remember the last crash I saw but suspect it might've involved an Austin Metro. Either that or when my mate put his Volvo 360GLT in a ditch on a frosty night when we were 20.
