I purchased a new travel camera after selling a zoom lens for a lot more than the new camera cost. I seldom used the big lens and so I decided to get a 1 inch sensor Panasonic. I got the TZ100 as it was about £200 less than the TZ200 and only lacked some zoom and Bluetooth. It arrived on Monday as I was packing the car for our week in Devon and so I slipped the box into the glove compartment and began using it on holiday. One day we went to Paignton zoo and a peacock decided to show off. I was not displeased with the shot over the fence. Click on it for full res.

Nice, no matter what is said, a decent (nothing too fancy either) dedicated camera still gives better shots than a decent phone. We've a TZ70 which was purchased a few years ago, it still gives great pics and it's on holiday with us currently, in Cornwall.

TZ70 is my own choice of 'pocket' camera, replacing a TZ50 and TZ20 before that. Tried a Samsung a number of years ago, but it was rubbish even then, so stuck with the Panasonics ever since.
Cracking pics too Humph.

Great picture.
We've got a TZ20 which we bought quite a long time ago and used for holidays. It's a good camera, but we've just used the phones for a quite a long time as the picture quality is good enough to view on the TV and it's really convenient automatically having all our pictures visible on every device.

/camera snob alert/
It is impressive, but it is clearly from a compact camera if you spend enough time looking at photos - it doesn't look like a shot from a decent DSLR with a pro spec lens - not in sharpness, colour rendition or bokeh...
The big win for you was that you had it to hand and actually used it! I curse myself for not having a DSLR with me at the right times...

Yeah and I’d curse walking around with 3 or 4 kilos of camera and lens round my neck on a family day out. Hence the 28-300 lens was sold. The 1 inch sensor on the TZ100 is still dwarfed by that on my Canon but I am just a bloke snapping photos.

I only use my SLR for moving/zoom stuff now
All still pics are done on an iPhone 11 . The camera on that is incredible. I haven’t used a point and shoot since my Fuji F10, but is that TZ really better than the latest camera phones for still stuff?
