Nothing wrong with Bonio's, we took them on exercise, great for dunking in tea.

This is both fantastic and deeply depressing at the same time.
Basically, you went for some walks in an area not local to you and got to sit outside a pub.....and you are deeply grateful for it.
We have a long weekend in Ambleside booked for mid June and all I can think of is the multitude of ways the Government could squeeze all the pleasure out of it.
Still - the shutters will no doubt come down again in October, so best to sniff out pleasures whilst you can.

We plan to be in the Lake District for the 1st weekend in May but I'm not sure there will be a lot of walking going on except carrying boxes as we're helping some friends move about 4 miles into Windermere (village, not lake).
I'm sure some nice food and appropriate beverages may be consumed though.

Still - the shutters will no doubt come down again in October, so best to sniff out pleasures whilst you can. There are many reasons to be hopeful that this won't happen, not least the vaccine success. The (realistic) hope is that a pill will be available by autumn that will reduce symptoms and in turn pressure on the healthcare system.

1) That's not the messaging from the PM (bit about vaccine success).
2) Why do we need a pill if the vast majority of adults will be vaccinated and the vast majority of the vast majority will be able to medicate with lemsip and bed rest ?
3) If pressure on the healthcare system is still an overriding concern despite " vaccine success " and 13 months of ruinous lockdown - we are going to be trapped in a never ending spiral of despair.
2021 - the year that hope was hog tied, gagged and dumped in the basement.

Managed last week to finally to have my first meal out in London since last September. Met up with my best man and went for lunch at (or rather outside) Colbert on Sloane Square. Had to be a posh burger and french fries, and I have to say it felt good and like getting back to some semblance of our past lives.
