The Glorious 12th, as I saw it described this morning. So are you all queuing outside the pub as I write this, or already at the checkout somewhere? Me? No. I think I'll let the general stupidity and over-exuberance die down a bit first. Today maybe best summed up by this picture of people queuing outside JD Sports waiting for it to open - I mean WTAF? Although judging by the crowds' attire, whether they are waiting to shop there or rob the place may be open to some debate.

I was at the gym just before 6am - it was heaving.
I have no real desire to have outdoor food and beverages - taking in the Christmas markets in Montreux or Vienna is one thing, but freezing my jubs off in Warwick is another.
Just open everything back up...............

I would rather drape my wet bollocks over an electric fence than go anywhere near a pub at least until they're fully open. As for shopping, that's what the internet is for. Why would I choose to ingratiate with sweaty grebbers and knuckle draggers when I can order what I need to be delivered to work? I can't go to the shops with a coffee wearing only my undercrackers.
Well, I could, but probably only once.

I don't like shopping anyway, so it's been great than the shops are shut and they are now busy. If the weather was a bit nicer then I'd happily sit in a pub garden.

I'm dreading this week at work, particularly the town centre nonsense on Fri and Sat. I've not missed it in any way whatsoever and I suspect it will be something like the stupidty we dealt with last July when it all opened up.
As for shopping, that's a chore that gets done only when absolutely necessary. The boy needs a haircut desperately and we have him booked in for Wednesday evening.

I reckon the pubs will be a total nightmare - as soon as anyone had a drink last summer all common sense went out the window, why would it be different this time. Still all the idiots will be in easily identifiable groups......

We all enjoyed a superb breakfast in early Spring sunshine, at a farm shop / cafe, with Herself's sister and kids. Under a canopy, with heaters it was quite pleasant and so good to be out socialising again. A full English and plenty of decent coffee and I didn’t have to prepare any of it.

I am thoroughly under-interested. Been a normal day as far as I'm concerned.
I need a haircut but not badly as Mrs RT actually did a pretty creditable job on my barnet about 10 days ago. Likewise, I'm keen to get back to the gym but thought I'd give a call this evening to ask how busy it had been today. Usually the joy of my gym is that it is almost empty and I've no interest in being in there when it's heaving.

Had the barnet chopped and as if the gods have deemed it, the snow has stopped and the sun is blistering therefore it would be damn rude not to take a trip down the pub.

I had no interest in going to the pub until things really calmed down, but Mrs PG has just got back in and said that as she passed our local village pub it looked inviting with the tables and chairs outside. So maybe a pint in a day or two will be the order of the day.

Our golf club has just invested £70k in a new patio area, outside furniture, planters, and glass windbreak walls. It opened today so I'll pop down tomorrow and have a pint (after I've scraped the snow and ice off the top, of course).

Here in London due to sheer ratio of people to pubs, you needed to book ages ago.
Can't even begin to be arsed with that. I have a sizeable ngarden, with furniture, and I have a supply of drinks. If I want to see someone, I'll invite them here.

Not interested in going to the shops but as I have two teenage girls who do I'm expecting to get dragged towards them sometime this week! I need some new jeans and have far too many pairs of pants that have a few too many holes so its probably no bad thing to go get some bits but I think we'll wait til later in the week. We're on holiday in Norfolk and the schools have gone back round here so hopefully it won't be very busy. Perhaps whilst the girls are shopping I'll slope off and enjoy a muh missed draught pint.
As for the gym, I'll have to wait until I get back at the end of the week so I'll book a session for Saturday morning. Can't wait to get back to working out. I'll probably have to take it easy at first.

Just another day at work for me, after scraping the frosted snow off the car.... was forecast to be a dry night too, although we did have a brief snowstorm on Sunday afternoon for about 10 minutes that left gardens, cars and house roofs covered in white stuff.
I hope I can get my hair cut on Saturday - the barbers around here do not usually take bookings, it's just a case of turn up and wait. Also hope that they won't be closing because of the Royal Funeral. I could do with some new slippers but I don't fancy having to fight my way through crowded shops; will just have to see how many people are in town on Saturday (no early finish on Fridays in the new job)

Drove to Devon. Was supposed to be Ilfracombe but ended up in Brixham due to first place having a shared hallway and therefore not being allowed to open until May.

Found the North Sea. Dont think I've seen it before. Growing up it was the English channel and most holidays have taken me to the Atlantic coast.

I've just been to the building society and town was rammed. It was uplifting seeing people in the shops, sat outside pubs in the sunshine and generally life trying to get back to normal.

The Punch Bowl has sold STC so isn't opening until the new owners have done a refurbishment and the restrictions are lifted some more.
