For a long while the acceleration phase of any trip has been a bit marginal, if I allow revs to build gently she moves on but sharp throttle increase there has been a faltering, like the engine was being held back or was going to seize. On my latest trip out I changed my foot position on the throttle pedal and noticed it has a tendency to move to the right on a vertical axes. Put my foot more to the outside of the pedal and she fairly jumped forwards and there was a bark to the engine note I hve not heard in a couple of decades (Prior stage 2 racing engine). Could this mean the ineffective throttle movement was starving the engine of fuel?
I know this is probably a bit basic but I cannot come up with anything to explain what I have noticed lately compared to the prior use. That said the old solex carbs were pretty worn out.

Had one of those 'moments' today, went back over all the little service items you get on a nigh on fifty year old car. Having a floor mounted accelerator, one of those things is to grease the accelerator assembly and cable. Checked and found I had forgotten to do it. Grease said items and go for a spin. Bessy is back, charged up the local hill like she was only thirty (So, not a sports car). What a bloody difference and I am looking forward to a good run sometime soon.

I finally got a result from eurocarb, they suspect fuel pressure issues.
