I saw this on twitter, quite shocked by it, actually. I had no idea she'd been ill. Always seemed like a really fun person to be around.

In her Top Gear episodes she was wearing a wig on many of her appearances hence the different hair styles but chose to keep the news to friends and family I understand.
I was lucky to meet her on a few occasions as a mate of mine is very good friends with her and her partner. She certainly liked a good time and was always the first to the bar, she was a dab hand at that driving game too. She achieved a hell of a lot in those 50 years.

That’s really sad . She seemed to buzz with energy and enthusiasm and was one of those people who everyone seemed to like

Oh that is sad. She was great fun. Took that astonishing directness that many Germans have and made it funny and watchable. And of course just a glorious talent behind the wheel.

She still holds the record for the fastest lap of the 'Ring in a 7-seat SUV

RIP. 51 really is no age and it's sad seeing someone pass in such a horrible fashion. It's fair to say she went having achieved a lot and having had an enjoyable time in the process.

She still holds the record for the fastest lap of the 'Ring in a 7-seat SUV And in a Transit van as well I imagine. I think that Top Gear episode where she lapped the Ring in a Transit as fast as JC in a Jag diesel was the first time many people were introduced to her and became aware of her talent. RIP to her. Much too young an age to go with so much more yet to do.

Saw this when the news broke and didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know much about her but besides being very talented, she seemed to enjoy life and I always enjoyed seeing her on tv. Rest In Peace.

I watched the TG tribute special for Sabine, and two things struck me about her when I watched back her footage
1) Her driving skills are superhuman. I think if you give me 1,000 years and the best driver's training, I don't think I would even come close to her level of skill and car control
2) She genuinely loved life, loved driving, loved having fun. Like Hammond described, being in a car with her was joyous. She seemed to enjoy every moment of it.
Which makes it all the more sad that she's gone so early. She truly tried to live her life to the fullest.

That BBC tribute was great. I watched it twice. A real force of energy and enthusiasm and a phenomenal driver. What a sad loss to the motoring world.
