I know, I have seen more than one census before but it is for some reason, churning my cheese.
Overnight visitors. Whose business is that but mine?
Type of central heating etc, are they basically selling this shit?
I thought this was supposed to be a census of people, not when we have two shits in a day and whenever we stick to the one visit.

Overnight visitors have always been a question. It's a snapshot of the country so who was where when is relevant. The heating questions are relevant in order to calculate matters regarding netzero which will affect people.

It's kept confidential for 100 years.

Sorry folks, today is an intensely bloody sore day and these pointless questions get right up my exhaust pipe.

A friend of mine is looking for work and he's got a job with the ONS as a Non-Compliance Officer - he will be running a team of people knocking on doors to chase up those who haven't completed the Census form. It's only for a few weeks but it's quite good money.

Isn’t this where a new religion was defined because so many people described themselves as affiliated to it 390k people answered "Jedi" to the religion question in the 2001 census however it wasn't designated a religion, just given a code as it was a common answer. I think only 190k or so were Jedi on the 2011 census so I assume the rest returned to their home planets.

I tried defining a new species but the system failed to comprehend.

You don't have to answer a large number of the questions, even the ones that aren't expressed to be voluntary.
For each question try clicking "next" or "submit" or whatever the button is, without giving an answer, and a lot of the time, it doesn't insist - there's only a relatively few number of questions where it insists you give an answer. Which by and large are the only ones I answered.
And for the question which read something "Do you feel yourself to be British / English / Scottish / Welsh / Northern Irish / Other", I selected other and then in the next question which asks you to specify, I wrote "European".
Just to stick two fingers up.

I think European is a reasonable answer for that question.

As my father likes to point out, prior to Brexit he was an Englishman, a British citizen and a European citizen. The prospect of being forced to have that slimmed down just to "Englishman" through no choice of his own is something that he gets exceedingly angry about. You may find me insufferable on Brexit or the Tory party, but by comparison to Dad, I'm practically Michael Gove.

That only happens if the Failed State gets its way....but he sees Brexit as risking the break-up of the UK.

I’ve got some sympathy with that opinion but, Brexit or not, with the SNP in power the independence issue was always going to be front and centre of Scottish politics. They were always going to try and force another referendum.

....I'm practically Michael Gove. Both him and Fraser Nelson (as a 2nd Scot) come across as exceedingly slimy and make me feel uncomfortable.

Blessed are the meat rubbers.

I did the census on Sunday morning. The pains I went through with W2.1 about how the UK census works can't be described in pleasant words. The Slovak one is all about how many Slovaks are alive and where they live in the world (if you have a SK passport you MUST do the census or risk a visit by the men in black leather coats at 5am) and you have a window to do it. I had to tell W2.1 a billion times that I wasn't doing it until Sunday or the day after because I didn't know if her sister would be at ours on the night (she's going through a divorce and we're supporting her as her idiot won't just fuck off out of the house - which reminds me if any of you 40-somethings fancy a drop dead hot MILF let me know) and that the census was a single day snapshot of the UK and nothing to do with just counting people. W2.1 was convinced that we'd be arrested if I didn't do it the second I got the code letter.

We did ours whenever it was that it came through, as we knew for certain that we'd be the only ones here on Census Day.

No but when they’re at the school gates I assume they look around at the other mums and consider their own attributes in the light of those around them.

Post her tinder profile and we can all judge. In the past I've made various attempts to pair sisters and cousins up with friends of mine - all to no avail. Either these women are hideous or my friends are morons. Probably the latter given that they're my friends.
