Blue with red leather is my fave, can't get on with that green that thinks it's grey.

Black with red is my preferred choice. In the photos posted above that green looks very much like BMWs Mineral Grey and I can confirm that goes very well with red leather. Anyone else disappointed when Garry said what shade of green it was? After his comment about it being an odd choice I was expecting Python Green

I've noticed that the Porsche Centre Bolton has a aventurine Boxster in stock. See if I can take a look

Nice . From what I have read although the pdk has better ratios they are still stupid ,so I think the decision is purely taste based .

Congrats, good choice, though I might have been tempted to scratch that Ferrari itch before bailing out and into the Boxster.
If I was optioning a Boxster I'd go Gentian Blue, Satin Aurum Wheels with red stitched GTS interior. If you can get a blue roof that exactly matches Gentian then even better.
For me it would be manual all the way if your looking to thrash the car, drive it like you stole it and the ratios become a lot less of an issue. I wouldn't go PDK personally as I know after the first month the paddles wouldn't get a look in and I'd just become lazy and let the gearbox do its thing.
Like Dan prepare to be amazed at how uneconomical the car is but its worth it for the fun on offer.
Didn't fancy going nearly new to avoid the wait or is this a special treat and therefore want the full experience?

View AttachmentHere’s the best picture I can find of aventurine green on a boxster I absolutely love that! Good choice on the Boxter, for price performance and looks it's hard to beat.

I forgot ,I watched a video on you tube with the fat bloke (JAy em I think) where he compares the gts to the base 992,he comments on the pdk gearbox being laggy in the gts ,I am assuming it was faulty because I have never driven a pdk car with such a delay ,but if it did have such a delay I wouldn't go pdk .

I felt like i was running the risk of buying a car for everyone else rather than me. I know a Porsche can fit easily into my life Not really worried about the economy. The 991 was pretty thirsty when on one. There's not much about nearly new and I want to pick exactly what I want

I saw that. I thought it would be ideal because he was doing the exact comparison I was doing (base 992 vs boxster gts) but he seemed to be in a very different place with the gts than any other reviewer.

However, I would probably spend my entire ownership bricking it over bills and therefore it would never get used. A 599 or 360 look great value but the risk of financial suicide just means it wouldn't fit into my life like a Porsche.

I'm not totally sold on Aventurine Green. I'd need to see it in the metal. Basically looks like a murky grey to me, and I think the world contains too many grey cars. I thought it was just my eyes, but yes it looks like dirty grey to me too. I think dark green with a red interior can look good. But when you say "red interior" I hope you are not going full on "everything is red interior" and it's just the seats? Edited to add - I've just looked at the configurator. I don't think the red interior goes with Aventurine Grey. For me, cliche though it is, it would have to be Carmine Red with a black interior. It is a convertible Porsche after all, so at your age it has to be a red one.

There is a full red and a black/red. The full red is just an assault on the eyes. The black dash/red seats is much nicer.

Garry did say he was 52 though and I think that's a difficult age to get a Ferrari. He'd need to grow a beer belly and start wearing Pringle jerseys, or alternatively Ferrari branded clothing!

For me that's more a colour for an Aston Martin than a Porsche. That said if you like it who cares what anyone else thinks.

It looks very similar to that Aston Green, but it's difficult to tell. I like my sports cars in a loud colour and manual.

At one of the places I worked at in the past we had a pool car in a similar colour, and one of the service engineers called it "baby puke green"

My father had a Range Rover in a bronzey-green shade that Land Rover called "Mosswood" and my sister memorably called "Cowpat Metallic".

Sales guy dropped into my office yesterday to pick up 911 spare key and logbook. We talked about spec etc. He's going to let me have a PDK and manual 718 for a day to help me decide. One thing I have to say about all Porsche dealerships I've dealt with is that their sales team are head and shoulders above any other brand I've experienced.

Can I ask if there is any discount available on the Boxster GTS?

Can I ask if there is any discount available on the Boxster GTS? No. Seemed pretty simple to me - they have more customers than they have GTS's. I asked. Didn't push it hard.

I think it will be a future classic. I have two friends actively looking at a new GTS - one a Cayman and one a Boxster.

Can I ask if there is any discount available on the Boxster GTS? Coast2coast cars were offering a 3% discount on the GTS when I looked a couple of weeks ago. That would mean not dealing with your local OPC, so depends on whether or not the £2k saving is worth losing that more personal touch or not.

There was some deposit contribution offer if you take finance. Not sure if this is linked.
