Glad to see Mercedes has stopped designing their cars like Korean Mercedes knock offs. Love the touchscreen integration.

The estate looks good. I hope there's some PPF on that centre console, otherwise it's going to get scratched and look dull very quickly.

To me the estate looks crap, too steep a slope on the tailgate plus in the side profile shots I have seen, the entire rear end of the car looks like it's melting and drooping downwards

I really like that, outside and in, especially the estate. Just a shame it's 4 cylinder only, a C43 (V6) version of the estate or even better, a V8 with 4WD would be great.

Other than the touch screen I like that.

The estate carries on my theory that the estate version of any large saloon/hatch is better looking than the saloon/hatch.
I think only the Insignia disproves this theory as both are gopping.

The estate appears to have a fairly vertical tailgate but the side window line makes it look shallower.
The interior looks a bit busy and I've seen a shot of one that has a weird pinstripe trim on it! Also, biplane steering wheel spokes. Really? How many buttons are on it.

Now the tailgate on this is too steep for you? You're a hard man to please.

Bit of a sad face but the rest is very agreeable. You'll have to spec the interior well to get rid of the great slab of shiny plastic but if it comes in the nice matt wood grain some Mercs have as an option then happy days.

If, and it's a big if, I were to have one, that shiny plastic bit would have to be leather or alcantara trimmed. I can't abide shiny anything in an interior.

I saw this yesterday and WOW!
This is a fabulous looking car in wagon form and the 60+ mile electric only range feels like that's where it should be.

I should have said too gentle a slope. Estates should have vertical, or near-vertical tailgate.
I'm having a bad day, I feel totally lacking in energy, probably as a result of no work and being forced to stay at home by Boris. At least I have a dental appointment on Friday which will get me out of the house

Go into a Mercedes showroom and they might as well ask you if you want 15, 16 or 17 feet of Mercedes saloon.

It might be a bit dull and Russian doll, but it's better looking than the latest BMW 3 series. I know I'm behind the times here, but the idea of the base petrol engine being a 1.5 litre engine in a Merc C Class just feels weird.
The press coverage shows what a hotch-potch the automotive world is at the moment. I got this week's Autocar magazine today. A big write up on the electrification only plans of Jaguar. Pica and write up of the Ioniq 5. A write up on the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. And then pages on the technical details of the petrol and diesel power-trains in the new C Class. This C Class, I guess, is the last ICE C Class we'll see? In a few years it could be a dinosaur, so enjoy it while it lasts.

It looks pretty good to me but then I like an understated car myself, much better than the gaping maws on some.

I really like the styling of the estate. Quite possibly the first Mercedes I'd be interested in owning.

I wonder if the interior LED lighting can be set up to flash in time with your music, disco stylee?

I wonder if the interior LED lighting can be set up to flash in time with your music, disco stylee? My experience of Merc interior lighting was that it felt very "70's disco", so that's probably an option they'll add later on.

I am sure we have had an E class not that long ago, in exactly that colour and looking exactly the same. Rather removes the point in buying an E class perhaps.
