Hyundai have just made a good looking EV. Charging at up to 800V too (if you can fi da charger that does that). The first edition is £45k which is Tasla 3 money, but I suppose the follow on boggo ones will be cheaper. www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-hyundai-ioniq-5-arrives-retro-design-292-mile-rangeWell, apart from the interior that looks as low rent and crappy as VW's ID3. And what's with the fascination with EV's and pale interior plastics?

Love the outside, kind of out Audied Audi. Simple but but great looking. The inside however is like a cross between an AClass and Prius.

Looks like an improved A1 outside. Do not like the paedophile shoe grey interior and the cupholder binnacle looks like a ludicrous afterthought.

Nice exterior but the interior has attempted to look "cool and minimalist" and ended up looking "shit and cheap".

Agreed with 'nice outside, crap inside' sentiment.

At the moment it comes across that the whole EV industry - whether Tesla or a trad car maker - are overcome with a combination of the amount of extra interior space they've got plus the rush to put EVERYTHING in to one sodding great touchscreen that they simply have no idea what to do with the rest of the space they've got.
It reminds me of the cars from the '80s where a base model had no centre console but the more upmarket ones did, usually incorporating one of those spring loaded built-in cassette holders, and the interior looked so much better in the latter.

Definitely looks good and should sell well but definitely needs to be a bit cheaper in lower spec forms. The current (no pun intended) Ioniq electric starts at 31k and tops out at £34k for the all bells and whistles Premium SE so it's quite a step up to ask £45k. If they can get it closer to the price of today's model they'll sell them by the truck load.

Great looking car and impressive piece of design.

I do really like that. The interior doesn't look great, but I'm sure it would look better in a darker colour.
With the faster charging and decent performance / range, it should sell really well.
I get Alex's point about the price, but that is for the launch model and it's a step up in size from the Ioniq, has much better charging (4+ times speed?) and performance plus the step forward in looks, so i'm not surprised they think they can sell it for £45k.

Appreciate all that Martin, didn't realise it was a size up from the current model. I think they will get some models well into the £30ks at which point it will give the ID3 a bloody nose.

Apparently the wheelbase is pretty much the same as a 7 series! I'm sure they will (on both points), it's much more appealing than an ID3.
