Lightish dusting in Cheltenham this morning, similar to Chris M's photo above.

Bloody cold, took the dog out for a walk, he cocked his leg and I’ve had to chip him off the lampost

We got proper snow last night - about 6 inches up at the house and about 4 inches at the office and it's still snowing now. The main roads are mostly clear but the side roads are more difficult.

This was sent by a friend of the beach back home in Aldeburgh...my mother said the road in had been cut off by drifting at one point.

We've had more snow overnight and it's still snowing. There's a thin covering almost everywhere this morning

We're up to the 'light dusting' phase now but it's lightening up. I went out for probably the coldest run of my life yesterday afternoon - temperature just below freezing with a strong wind - wearing ski thermals underneath my running gear. It was hard work but with the ground essentially dry and very light snow falling, actually not unpleasant. My wife went out at dusk, slightly underdressed as it turned out, and set a personal best for 7km because she was in such a hurry to get back into the warm

Really glad of the winter tyres. They may not be fully utilised for a lot of the winter but even a few days of being able to go places instead of being unable to go anywhere, makes them worth every penny.

Only a light disting this far south. Was a little thicker this morning so I walked down to the shop for milk rather than get the car out. Its mostly melted now.

It's snowed all day, but must have warmed a few degrees above zero, which it's thawing almost as fast as it settles.

No snow but seriously cold with the windchill from either blowing on off the sea or Dartmoor.

The snow had all but gone by late evening yesterday, and the forecast was for no more overnight but I've woken to a very white scene so I guess I'll have to get the wellies and broom out once I've had breakfast

I was speaking to an Aberdeen based colleague yesterday who mentioned he had to dig himself out to go into the office and then had to dig himself back in later on. It's not exceptional at the moment except that I know he has a half converted Duro 6x6 (It's ex-military. Imagine a 6 wheel drive version of the Dakar support trucks and you won't be far off). So while I was taking the piss out of him about that he mentioned that he also owned a LWB Defender that has a snowplough attachment.
Of course we know how much attention Defenders need and unsurprisingly it is also off the road at the moment!

🤣 Checking water troughs and topping up by hand. We have full white out conditions now and it shows no signs of slowing.

Your eyes are sharp.
I've already had a semi-serious enquiry, so I thought I had better get my finger out and get my plate on retention so I can get the new V5 ASAP.
I'm not putting L300 MSL on an L200 as that could be classed as marginally gittish. I may dust off V44 MSL at a later date.

Yes indeed. Last night booting it from the North Circular onto the A40 to get past a dawdler, the back end stepped out just a smidgeon. Sufficiently smoothly and collectedly that "a dap of oppo" was not required and my wife either didn't notice or just didn't comment (which would be unusual), but nevertheless it did step out.
A reminder that 8 degrees is starting to be warm for winters on damp surfaces.

The village was pretty much cut off by snow drifts on Valentine's Day. I had to go out to meet the buyer of the Defender as he couldn't get in.
