What cars would be a part of your dream garage if only considering cars you've actually driven?
Given what I do obviously I have a bit of an unfair advantage perhaps, but of all the cars I've driven, these are what I would pick
Weekend fun Alpine A110 Mazda MX-5
Daily driver Kia Stinger VW Golf GTI
Just for laughs BMW M2 Mercedes CLA 45 AMG
Six cars should be enough for me I reckon...

Weekend fun
Caterham 620R or maybe a 420 to keep me alive Boxster GTS 4.0
Daily driver
Porsche 911S Targa (I like the wind in the hair but not keen on the 911 convertible) M3 Touring when it comes and if I can afford this lot, I can afford to give it a facelift.
Just for laughs
BMW M2 CS with a roll cage Toyota Yaris GR

I don’t drive every day, my weekends are full of children and I have no time for driving fun. So my list based on cars I’ve driven:
Crushing European long journeys: W124 300E
Thrashing the engine to the redline: CRX 1.6i-16
Cruising the city looking cool with all the windows down: 500SEC
Driving alone at night because the roads are empty: 991.2 GT3

Based on what I've driven:
Everyday BMW M3 (E46) BMW M3 (E90) Porsche Cayman S (987.1) Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 Toyota GR Yaris
Occasionally Porsche Cayman GT4 (981) Lotus Exige Sport 350 (I would actually buy a 410 over a 350).
I'd probably also want to include something like an F-Pace SVR in a vaguely realistic dream garage, but I've never driven a bonkers SUV.

Right, on what I've driven:
Daily Drivers: XFR: Sorry, boring in that I've had them as daily drivers for 6 years but near perfect for me... E90 M3: I want to experience more of that high revving V8 Porsche Cayman: I've only driven cooking versions but they are superb all rounders, comfortable enough to drive all day but destroys a B road without also your back
Weekend fun: Ferrari F430 cabrio: but give me a manual not the slow automated version please, I like good autos but this is not one! Porsche 911 964 era: Old school dynamics and feels so different to modern cars Jaguar F Type S coupe: Because: well, just look at it!!!
Just for fun/trackdays: Caterham superlight R: close between this and a Vtec powered Atom but the Caterham is so much more adjustable and talkative JP spec "LM" sports car: It was wet when I drove it but it was still in a different league to anything I've driven on track before, and I preferred its feel to the single seater. Amazing - in my dream garage I'd keep at that playboy's track in Spain and visit it regularly!!!

This thread has made me think I need to drive more cars but the odd holiday hire car aside I only test drive cars I’m seriously considering so the list isn’t long and very predictable:
Daily Drivers - RR Autobiography (or M760 with less kids to move about, not driven one but the 750 was close enough) - Golf R (be interested to try the A45 but suspect the ride will be too harsh)
Weekend - Porsche Boxster - Mustang V8 Convertible
Just for fun - Caterham - Palmersport single seater (and a trailer)

Interesting choices all. GR Yaris seems to be a favourite among a couple. I imagine it must be quite something.
And I guess it's probably because of my station in life, but I could not really imagine myself enjoying an SUV/off-roader. Porsche Macan seems to be the closest I've come to having fun in one, but nearly all of the rest left me cold. If I needed to have one, I'll get one that's reasonably-sized yet packed with features. The new Kia Sorento comes to mind.

I wouldn’t want a fleet of cars and I am not sure I could be bothered with old stuff in the main (they never drive like they did when they were new).
So – of all the cars I have driven, I would have an F-Type SVR Coupe for daily and weekend use.
I wouldn’t need a track car, as I would probably be doing a UK race series of some description (can’t tell you what – I haven’t driven any yet).
There might be space for something special – but seeing as I haven’t driven a Countach QV, I can’t have that as a stable mate to the SVR.

I drove a Diablo once but it was not special and I would not buy one if I won the lottery. I hated the limited vision and the fact that it is easy to lose fast moving hatchbacks and SUV's with the poor vision to the rear and sides.

Signed an order form for a black one with the Circuit Pack on 19th December. Expected to arrive in either August or September. Plenty of things to dislike about the car on first acquaintance, but loads of things to love. The more I drove it, the more I liked it. It will be an excellent contrast to what I have, and a bundle of fun. Wet trackdays and B-road blasts - here I come!

I am seriously considering sending it to Litchfield for some light fettling once I've run it for a while in its standard guise. I'll post up a new thread in due course
