It's it a bit wet where you are? I live on a hill and it's starting to look like an island.

It's just grey and moist now, but it was quite blowy and wet when I got up at 5am this morning in order to be ready for an eight hour Zoom meeting that our clients' client, who are in the Gulf, insisted start first thing their morning.
Mind you I had it easy compared to my US colleagues, for whom the meeting started at 12.30am and went on all night. I saw the dawn twice today - once outside my own study windows and then again five hours later outside their windows.

I came to work on the bike. Flooded roads with hidden potholes are not fun! We've had pretty much constant rain for a couple of days. There are new lakes popping up in many of fields

It sure is wet, and very windy. We were lucky yesterday and escaped the worst of the downpours that had been forecast, we just had light drizzle being blown almost sideways most of the day.
When I looked out a little while ago, the puddles at the sides of the road outside were threatening to meet in the middle. Our house is much higher than the road, so no real chance of being flooded by rain. From leaking/blocked drains, however, another matter as I already know from the start of the year........ roll on 2022

So are we to assume we had Storm Anna and Storm Christoph and can expect Storms Elsa, Hans, Marshmallow, Olaf and Sven during the storm season?
You need daughters and/or an appreciation of contemporary popular culture references. And yes I know Kristoff is really with a "K"

I've just been to collect my car and drove back on the outskirts of town under a railway bridge which was completely flooded. I managed to get through it without any drama but I think I was pushing the 700mm wading depth.

I managed to get through it without any drama but I think I was pushing the 700mm wading depth. I keep hoping to find a bit of flooding, the worst I've experienced was down in the New Forest in the Autumn which was 100mm at most, so not testing the car at all (900mm wading on the RR) It's been quite windy here and light rain, but that's all.

Must have been some sort of eye of the storm earlier, because it's blowing a hooley again outside now, albeit not raining.

It's going to have to seriously snow hard or get very cold, very quickly if it's going to cause a problem to the level they are suggesting.
It has just been very wet here today.

It's been really wet here all day. Waterlogged fields everywhere. I could not hear any rain about 30 minutes ago and I went out to check the lambing shed only to find it was snowing instead and settling.

Well, it has clearly got cold enough. The road past the house is white, despite a gritter going past an hour ago.

It's dry and clear here, a bit cold/windy but that's it. My parents live in Cheshire and they had heavy snow for a few hours last night and apparently it's quite deep, enough to make them delay their weekly supermarket shop, which is the highlight of their week at the moment....

Looking at the trees moving, it seems to be quite windy too but without the noise of gusty gales. Your parents shouldn't be going to shop together in a supermarket, the request in only one person per household goes to shop ! (however unfair or illogical this may seem, particularly for the elderly) I hope they don't suffer verbal abuse for so doing

They're doing everything else they should do, so a supermarket trip together followed by a Costa drive through is the highlight of their week at the moment. They are used to being off travelling and avoiding the UK winter, so it's really frustrating for them at the moment. I appreciate there are loads on people in worse positions and they're not complaining, just frustrated.

Loads of rain. There's a river here that, despite many years of effort, always breaks its banks and flood the nearby fields, os much so that it's basically a lake. Thankfully my end of town is well above the level of the rivers and canals - we're basically an island, you can't enter or exit the town without crossing at least one river or canal. Massive snowfall for a couple of hours last night, which meant I could turn the DSC off and have some fun whilst taking Phoebe to school.

It was wet earlier in week, but was dry yesterday and is a glorious clar, sunny, blue sky day today. I had to go to the dentist this morning and it was perfect conditions for sunroof open and heated seat on as I blew some cobwebs out of the MINI.
