Last week I go out in the 335.Tyre pressure light pops up so I check the tyres (which tbh I had neglected for a while.) All pressures are down a bit but the offside front is down 1bar. With a trip up north looming I decide to check the tyres daily and the daily check reveals nothing ,air is being retained.Full of confidence I set off for Manchester, whereupon arriving there the lights come on again and I go round and check the tyres and the rear offside tyre has lost 1/2 a bar from the morning.I top it up drive home and go to the local tyre place who repair the tyre as it had acquired a nail.
Yesterday another trip to manchester but on the way back on the m56 the car hits a hole and I feel the car lurching over to the left and all the lights on the dashboard going crazy.I pull over and see the front offside tyre has no air in it.
Inspecting the damage he tyre fitter says I am very lucky they were run flats .

A pothole of that severity on the motorway is a total disgrace.

....but sadly all too common.

The 320 failed its MOT last week on sidewall bulges on both nearside tyres. The one on the back tyre was particularly large but I don't recall hitting a very bad pothole so perhaps I just hit several with the same bit of tyre!
Anyway, new tyres fitted all round (£800). Drove to the office on Friday but on the way home I thought the car had broken - all the warning lights came on, a large message popped up in the centre screen and the car slowed and became sluggish. Warnings were tyre pressure related and clearly the car decides that if you have a soft tyre you really shouldn't be in Sport mode hence the loss of performance.

I can generally guarantee that if I drive the Fiesta over about 40 miles, the "check tyre pressure" warning light will come on despite the tyre pressures all being OK. No idea why it does this, but it always has; if you stop the car, reset the warning and carry on, it tends to come up again after a few miles but of you wait until journey's end then cancel it, it then stays off until the next "long" journey is under way

Not impressed with the bmw system ,the tyre pressure light didn’t come on at all with the second puncture . I do like the Porsche system which tells you the actual psi of each tyre .

On mine the front left was 10psi higher than the front right but between collecting the car on Thursday and the warning going off on Friday I probably drove 30 miles. Similar to you, years ago I ran over some debris in the M5 and got an instant puncture but there was no warning from the car, maybe it was a system in its very infancy. The Micra has a screen option that shows tyre pressures so I assume it's a modern safety system requirement

You need a newer BMW....or something else, most cars have a proper TPMS system now. The 7 showed individual tyre pressures (the newer systems show temp as well), which the RR also does but it adjusts the recommended temperature as the tyres warm up so you don't have to wait until they're cold if you needed add some air.

My 4 series only gave me the green or red light beside each tyre but the M5 has both pressure and temperature. I think the tyre pressures came with the LCI upgrade on the 4 series.
