I have to say that although this car has been out for nearly a couple of years I haven't paid much attention to it. However a client turned up today in a new A6 Avant 40 TDi in silver (to replace his old blue A4 Avant) and I have to say it is a very handsome car. I think the colour enhances the flaring of the rear arches and as I looked around it there wasn't an angle I found awkward or unattractive. Inside, it is huge and looks really well finished. The owner is exceptionally happy with it, saying it is very quiet and much more comfortable, suspension wise, than his old car. It has every toy he needs and is about as economical as his old A4 whilst being more powerful. He just laughs at the M5 and tells me to get a real car!

The one I ran around in for a few months - also silver but a 67 plate so previous generation, I presume - was an attractive enough car with a big interior and it was very refined with reasonable pothole absorbtion (?) too. I just didn't like the way it drove if you weren't cruising but it was certainly pleasant for a few late night trips back from Glasgow along the motorway or pottering along in commuter traffic.
Oddly I've just had an email from Drive the Deal offering 23% off the A6 Avant.

A colleague has one which he got about a year ago and despite being black, it does look very good, but they do look better in a lighter colour. Until you get to the grille, which is huge/silver/looks awful.

I think the A6 Avant has been one of the better looking Audis for a long time, allowing that the front end of them all seems totally over the top now. Despite its size, it still look quite svelte.

The side profile and partially the area around the rear wheel arches does look good, but the grille.....it's better with the black pack but still ridiculous.

I can't say that I remember the grill being as silver as that so perhaps it does have the Black Pack.

That is only a grille away from being a nice looking car.

I think the silver and chrome look better on the pale cars but would be atrocious on something darker.

I've looked at the Hybrid of these and like them a lot. Silver grille for me though.

Another A6 fan here. Dark blue or dark green with a silver grill.
