Should sort out those who are good at car set-up.... there is going to be just one 90-minute practice session on Saturday morning, before a short gap and Qualifying. No Friday running at all. Anyone binning their car in practice is likely to be severely compromised. The current weather forecast is mostly sunny, and dry all week-end.

Will any of the current driver line up have raced at Imola before?

Wasn't there a one-off race a few years ago when they went through that weird stage of resurrecting the European GP? If anyone then I suspect only Kimi
EDIT 2006, Kimi in a McLaren Merc Alonso was there too.

Kimi definitely in the Alfa next season. The Sauber team said today, as they announced the continuation of Alfa sponsorship, that he still has pace and brings a good deal of marketing and exposure. It looks surprisingly like Giovinazzi will also stay meaning that Mick Schumacher is likely set for a Haas seat.

Glorious to see the cars at Imola. When the circuit was renovated a few years ago the decision to remove the final chicane was a great one. It never provided a realistic passing opportunity, and now Tamburello becomes a better overtaking opportunity.
Rivazza in qualifying illustrated the inherent understeer with the Ferrari. The front walks across the track for the first part of Rivazza, which leaves the driver wide for the second part and the laptime is lost. But, Leclerc handles it a lot better than Vettel. Leclerc visibly brakes later, and isn’t afraid to coax the car into slight oversteer on exit. It isn’t usually the fastest way around, but that’s the consequence of a poorly balanced car. Leclerc is the star of the season so far, he was basically a second off pole time, but he was barley slower than cars ahead which are faster.
Gasly is a tough one. He seems to suit the car and the team, and from 2022 perhaps Alpha Tauri is a smart place to be. It’s a well-resourced team, but it hasn’t got the resources or infrastructure of the top teams. But in order to comply with the budget cap, the top teams are going to have to give up their goodies. That period of adjustment could be awkward, whereas it might be better with Alpha Tauri who won’t have to scale back to the same extent.
