Something quicker and firmer than I strictly need. Something immersive yet practical and useable in all weathers. Have you met my wife? Bob at his best!

My commute is 42 miles down the A19 in all weathers, through variable traffic. Ideally, I'd like a Tesla Model S with autopilot. That reminds me..... Rain can confuses the autopilot, so no good for the North! My boss has only had his Model 3 a couple of weeks it's already tried to do an emergency stop when it thought spray from a lorry he was passing was a car moving over into his lane. He had Voodoo cruise on an A7 for 3 years followed by a 5 series for the last 2 years and never had an issue no matter what the weather. Maybe it's because it just uses cameras rather than radar? It smart enough to know the difference between cars/motorbikes/vans/lorries and even identifies SUVs apparently, but not great if it gets caught out by some rain.

The auto braking on the Qashqai has only been caught out once while I was driving - up in Scotland, on a narrow road, it decided the oncoming logging truck was swinging too far onto our side and applied the brakes by itself.

Which is going to be very interesting with the whole self driving thing. Perfect in a sunny California. Chaos on a wet Monday in Bolton.
