I like the side profile and rear, just not sure that rectangular grille works.

When I first saw the pictures I thought it was some custom job on an existing 370Z. Which is retrospect is probably a good sign and they've made it a modernised update of the existing shape. But I'm also not a fan of that weird front grille. THere are no other rectangles or straight lines on the design, so why have a rectangle in the front?

I saw a Z today, 11 plate and a bit of molestation including the multi colour paint and debadged. No idea which variety it was.

Well there you go. I should have spotted that as I had a Scalextric 240Z and loved it. Mine had bumpers though.

I don't think the new car looks as pretty as the outgoing (outgone!) model and the front end looks a bit kit car ish although I can see the family similarity from the 240Z - it's maybe not the best executed design. However I will always have very fond memories of the 350Z's at PalmerSport which were driftastic. I can honestly say I have never held a drift for so long as I did that day - you started it about 100 yds before the corner and were still sideways at least the same distance past the corner. Brilliant fun.
I am looking at putting together another PalmerSport trip perhaps next August so if anyone has an interest, drop me a message.
EDIT: Europe really is becoming the California of the world when it comes to cars. In the 80's and 90's Many manufacturers didn't sell certain cars in California because of emission and other regulations and now Europe has taken up that batten.

Europe really is becoming boring.

I think Europe is legislating towards a standardised fleet of low emission battery VW Up! style vehicles - a Euro-Trabant as it were.

You don't think that the not-coming-to-Europe is associated with the type approval cost vs. sales estimates?

You don't think that the not-coming-to-Europe is associated with the type approval cost vs. sales estimates? It's not worth their while to do the emissions work on its own. I saw the UK sales figures for the 370Z and they barely get above 100 in any one year. Apparently the TT managed 351 sales last year and the Cayman did 294. Whoever used to buy these things (10k TTs in 2007) has stopped and is, presumably, in an SUV.

I'm assuming they've all got older and can't bend down any more

I could easily see myself in the market for a Cayman or fast TT but that would make me one of only 645 people in the whole country in a year. Now I feel like some kind of minority outcast!

Those statistics for the TT and Cayman cannot be right, surely? They have probably sold at least 294 718 Cayman GT4s in the last 12 months, never mind the rest of the Cayman range.

Someone posted them on the Pistonheads thread about the Nissan. I was surprised about the Cayman number, less so about the TT as all the middle aged hairdressers who used to buy those are in Audi Q5s nowadays.

HIS!
I was thinking of those highlighted blonde ladies with an extra bouffant flourish to their hair. You know, like the one Bob has.

HIS!I was thinking of those highlighted blonde ladies with an extra bouffant flourish to their hair. You know, like the one Bob has. He is totally straight and his very attractive wife works in the business on reception. I gave up the female hairdressers after I used to use a salon in Glasgow near an old office in the city centre where the girls would deliberately lean across you and give you a face full of boobs. It was fun for one or two times but it was all about the (careful Bob) size of the tips and when you are being teased like that it becomes boring if you can't do anything about it.
