How soon do you think the GT4 will be sold on? Are they shifting stock pretty well at the moment? Pretty quickly I would suspect. In the 3 times that I've been to the dealership in the last 2 weeks, there has been at least one customer picking up an approved used car. Today in the showroom was a Racing Yellow 981 GT4 on a 65 plate (like mine) that wasn't there last Saturday. It's already been sold, there's a board next to it sayings congratulations to the (named) customer on his purchase. It's a pretty full spec too, with buckets, ceramics and sport chrono as well as the full leather and alcantara interior with yellow stitching. Someone else was also just getting out of the GTS demonstrator when I pulled up there today. Anyway - GT4 now handed over and numberplate put on retention. I have a confirmed build slot for October, which was Tewkesbury's last available one this year. All being well, my car will be delivered in November. Just need to finalise the spec, and confirm to the dealer. They will pay the money for the GT4 into my bank account, less £3k deposit on the GTS, and I'll pay the balance for the GTS in full when it arrives.

I'm sure the time will fly by.
What's the mileage on your GT4?

11k on a GT4 in 4 and a half years is considered average to high mileage on a GT Porsche! If you search for used ones you'll see what I mean.
Bear in mind that since I have owned the car in Jan 2016:
I've been unemployed I've been contracting in Luton for 3 months - no GT4 miles there I've been unemployed I've been contracting in Southampton for 4 months - no GT4 miles there I've been unemployed I've been contracting in Redditch for 2 years - most weeks I'd be in either the silver Cayman while I still had it, or the M3 I've been working in a permanent job less than 2 miles from my house, for a year I've been working from home for 4 months And I've had access to either 1 or 2 other cars during that time.
The GT4 is unpleasant to drive in very cold and wet conditions. It's "an experience", but one that you have to concentrate very hard on keeping it on the black stuff, and be super-smooth with your inputs. Not particularly suitable for a commute. It's great on smooth dry A-roads.

So if you want to use a GT4 properly, a set of winter wheels and tyres or swapping the Cup 2s for a standard Porsche tyre would be the way to go? There’s a lady on Twitter who’s done loads of miles in hers, must be 50-60k, I think she put normal tyres on, but you have to admire someone using it as a daily and putting lots of pleasure miles on one.

Congrats Dan. I think a Cayman GTS 4.0 is all the car I would ever want. Yummy engine, yummy gearbox, yummy everything for a price that isn't that ridiculous.

Nice, really Hits the spot for a road biased Porsche . How was the road noise ? I was at Tewksbury on Tuesday ,they look very low stocked . Road noise not particularly noticeable - certainly no worse than the GT4 and probably better. Definitely better than my old 987.1, despite that car being on 18"s and the GT4/GTS being on 20"s. Tyre widths are narrower on the GTS than the GT4 - I think the GTS is 235 front and 265 rear. The demo car was on Pirelli P Zeros, I think they either come on Pirellis or Michelin Pilot Sport 4S according to the luck of the draw. Hope mine comes on Michelins. How's the GT3, what brought you in to the dealership? Mine is now up on the approved used car website; www.dicklovett.co.uk/porsche/used-cars/2016-porsche-cayman-gt4-2-door-2

Particularly as you could almost get a decent spec brand new GTS 4.0 for that!

A 64 litre tank was an option? How big is the standard tank?

Remember the discussion about air pressure ? Noticed now all Porsche’s come with nitrogen filled tyres ,I’m sure mine is , 9k miles and not had to top Up the air once .

Racing - the standard fuel tank was only 54 litres on the 981 GT4. The 64 litre tank was a no-cost option, which was a no-brainer for me. But I suppose the 54 litre tank saved a trivial amount of kilos.
franki - good to hear you still have the GT3. And on the tyre pressures - I replaced all four tyres on the GT4 last January at 10k miles and they had maintained their original pressures without intervention, for four years. Amazing.

That is incredible value retention given that a new GT4 starts at £76k!

Yep - Gentian Blue with Satin Platinum wheels and the GTS interior with the Crayon dial and stitching. My spec is unchanged from the one I posted a while ago.

Python Green has been available to order on the GTS since launch, but has only recently been made available to order on the GT4 and Spyder. Nice to have more options for colours, although green is definitely not for me.
