"New Lexus IS features fresh styling, new tech and enhanced chassis" says the Autocar headline. Oh, but then goes on to say that it is not coming to Europe. www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-lexus-features-fresh-styling-new-tech-and-enhanced-chassisSeems a shame. Yes, the styling has always been divisive, but now that huge and ugly front grilles are on BMW's, Mercs and Audis, the Lexus almost seems stylish in comparison. Europe will still get the ES. I drove an IS hybrid when they first came out in F Sport spec and it felt really well screwed together and disguised the hybrid / CVT combo really well. It was maybe 7-8 years ahead of it's time as diesels of course were the big thing in that period. Looks like the German exec saloon holy trinity are going to see off all the opposition in turn. How dull the market will be then.

You can't buy one in Europe, a tragic shame.

I like that too.
When I got my second generation IS250 the choice was between that and the BMW E46 and for me there was no competition as the Lexus was the better looking, more refined vehicle - and better value. Three years later I preferred another over the recently released E92, but when I came to change again I needed an estate and Lexus were not going to release one so I went with the E92 Touring. The 3rd generation brought the spindle grille, which I wasn't keen on but as has been pointed out, since everyone's going down the big grille route, this one actually looks tasteful in comparison to BMW, Audi and MB. The 3.5 litre V6 is a great engine but getting on a bit now.
