I've followed that. I would love a 355 in dark metallic green with tan interior.

Nice - never even heard of that. Not an Instagram user.

I've always liked dark green cars too. I was quite pleased when I had to option of emerald green on the Insignia I had a few years back. The colour suited it rather well and looked particularly good in direct sunlight. Not many mainstream cars have a green option these days sadly. Usually its just a token shade of blue and red amongst various shades of black, grey and silver.

Despite my love of dark green cars, only one of the 21 cars I've owned was a darkish green, which was the Z1. I did also have a green Mk2 Golf GTI 16v for a while, but it was Montana Green, which is a bright emerald shade.

I think there was a dark green on later Mk2 GTIs that everyone got moist about. Was it called Oak Green? I remember seeing one in St Andrews and liking it a lot.

If I was going to order a 992 it would be in adventurine green. Feeling properly brave I’d have the red/black leather interior too.

This is Montana Green. Mine looked very similar to this one - had the same split-rim BBS alloys as well.

No....but it was a 3dr. It was a US import, so it was LHD with a 2.0 16v engine, full black leather interior and air-con. Didn't have it very long, as being a rare car over here, someone from Club GTI offered me quite a bit more than I had paid for it.

I've only had one green car, a Passat Estate in (non metallic....) dark green, chosen from the Pool as the only alternative at the time was to order a Peugeot 307.
My parents have had a few, most of which were ordered new. My Dad had 2 x Renault 20s (a TL, then a TX), both in the same light green; an Ambassador HLS in a very light metallic green (thankfully ditched after 12 months when he could order an SD1 due to a promotion). He had a few years in other colours before ordering a Saab 9000 CSE in Scarabe green which was a really nice colour, followed by a black CDE then another CDE in scarabe green. That 9000 was the only black cars he's ever had and there won't be another...he's not had a green car either since the Saab, but the options are fairly limited these days as we know. My Mum had a green Renault 5 a long time ago and a BRG MG Montego which she loved, with the colour being a highlight.

I had the promise of a MK2 GTi 16v in that colour but the guy sold it to someone else. I have always regretted not getting that car.

Lhasa Green was an older colour on Mk1s and early Mk2s. The later cars, especially the 1990-on "big bumper" versions could be had in Oak Green, which is the olive/Barbour colour. I wanted one that colour but couldn't find a decent one within my then limited budget. It's why I had the Montana Green one - being LHD, I got it cheap, plus finding working air-con in a Mk2 was a massive plus.
As regards green cars in the family, my mother's had two - she had a Montego Estate in BRG and later a Volvo V40 in a metallic olive green. Dad's had five - he had a Jaguar Mk2 3.8 in BRG, a Range Rover Vogue LSE in a bronzy-green colour that LR called "Mosswood", an Audi Allroad in Highland Green, an RS4 Avant in Deep Green, and his current SQ5 Plus, which is a dark olive-green Exclusive Shade which he tells me is called "Derby Green".

I know someone who has a metallic blue mkII that is also a rare-ish colour that I don't recall the name of. He has dropped a VR6 engine from an R32 under the bonnet.

If it's a bright shade similar to the banner at the top of this page, I think that's called "Bright Blue Metallic" and could only be had on late 8v GTIs and Drivers I think. If it's a dark shade, then on an earlier car it might be Helios Blue Metallic and on a later car is likely to be Royal Blue Metallic, both of which could be had on both 8vs and 16vs. I had a Royal Blue Mk2.

Bright Blue was the colour. I remembered that I had a copy of a magazine with an article about the very car in it, which I had originally bought because there was a tiny picture of me in it!
