A colleague was on Blackcircles to order new front tyres for her Twingo earlier, and it offered that there are TWO different sizes on the same car; 165/65 R15's on the front and 185/60 R15's on the back.
All seems a bit strange to me - any other odd-tyred cars out there?

There are loads of examples with wider rears than fronts and iirc one example that had wider fronts than rears (RS3).
I assume it is one of the rear engined Twingos?

Not unusual - my Lexus IS had 225/45s on the front and 245/45s on the rear.

The TVR has staggered sizes. 225/50R16 on the rear and 205/55R15 on the fronts. I could up those to 245/45R16 front and 225/50R15 rear as those are what the 500s ran.

I can understand wider profiled tyres on RWD performance cars, even if they are road cars, but not on a 1-litre FWD dodgem!

Isn't it a 1 litre RWD (and rear engined) dodgem?

It will have narrower tyres at the front to ensure that it understeers and that the back never gets the better of the front in normal driving. The Smart is similar.

The Benz has wider and lower profile tyres at the rear.

The 5 Series saloon has wider rears (275 vs 245) in M Sport trim, but the estate has 245s all round, which means my 535d has narrower rears than a 318d. Not an issue though, traction is surprisingly very good and much better than it was in the 330d estate I drove (255 rears).
