I have been having a very loved-up time with the XFR, questioning whether there is really anything about it I would change, but the recent hot weather has seen a repeat of last year's air con antics. Last year it had a regass and was fine. This year it seems to be blowing cooled air into the passenger side and initially hot then ambient air into my side, whatever I do with the settings. But sometimes it's fine - often on the second trip of two close ones it is OK, and when starting in fairly cool conditions its OK. But starting in the baking heat like just now, its a bastard, so it's booked in (in a mere 3 week's time!) for a look.
I seem cursed with this sort of thing, the GTA spent a long time with the compressor sometimes working and sometimes not (again generally not working when it was hottest!) before being diagnosed with a leaky pipe somewhere. In both cases it forced me to drive a bit with all the windows down - something I never normally do - and the noise is epic, but big wrap-around leather sports seats and no air con are not a great combo...

It might simply be a sensor in the system that's gone awry rather than a part of the aircon itself.
I had something like that in my original Stilo and it was a well knowm issue.

Terrible week for it to fail. At least you're getting an aural benefit, but not great on the motorway. Why 3 weeks to get it looked at?
Do you run your aircon all the time, or just when it's needed to cool the car? I only use mine when it's needed, it's a habit going back to the days when it made a noticeable difference to the performance. When I had a 1.6 Bora, it was like a Sport button, I used to press it before any overtake!
It was particularly warm this afternoon, I had the aircon on with the roof down, which was very pleasant.

Switching it off definitely made a difference, only slight, but every little bit helped!

In 1994 some mates and I hired a car to drive down to Donnington for the GT racing and we had got a 1k mile 405 in 1.9 non-turbo diesel form with the unusual (for the time) fitment of aircon. Turning that on was like hitting the brakes!

I run it all the time, even on the C max. Most OEM's seem to recommend this, and cars seem to mist up badly without it. Unfortunately, until it gets really warm out, you can't tell if it's not working.
It's a weird issue. Driving 2.5 hours each way yesterday it worked fine all the way up (cool start, but then warm for much of the journey) and on the way home I had 15 mins of the driver's side not blowing cold air, before it worked fine all the way back, even after a stop. It just doesn't work well from a really hot start.
3 weeks for a courtesy car - 2 weeks for a slot without one. Maybe they sold too many F Paces...

Forgotten what having A/C is like. I kind of prefer the fresh air these days. I have found that I don't get a sore threat on long journeys any more.
