This falls at half term this year. We’re supposed to be going to Spain as usual but flights are currently ludicrous to this extent: it’s cheaper (like half the price!) for me to fly the family to NICE for the GP weekend plus a few days than to fly them to Murcia or Alicante for the same period.
insane.
w2.1 has said we’re not going to the F1 but I’m working on it.

Yes, it would be insane to go to Spain instead, but even more to go to the South of France and not go to the F1.
If W2.0 doesn’t want to go to the F1, then you’ll save on her ticket, that’s a further cost saving!

Definitely go the F1 - I've been three times (albeit a while ago now) and it's awesome. The noise and the glamour are both ridiculous. If you go though, try and shake your contacts book for any potential invites.
Beware the potential costs though - my wallet still sobs at the time I was stung for EUR180 for two vodka tonics in Jimmyz on the Saturday night... We'd been invited as guests but arrived before our hosts, so we couldn't immediately get access to their insanely VIP table (out at the end of a small jetty in the middle of a pool) and made the mistake of not waiting and deciding to get a first drink at the bar. Ow ow ow...never again!

I’ve done Monaco F1 before and know where not to go. I must say I don’t hold out any hope of being allowed and the trip to Spain is still in the offing.
