Funny how you can rent a different class of vehicle from a different company in a different location... and get the same outcome.
I rented an SUV because I’ll be driving in areas that there is some off roading needed. The Ford Escape or similar turned out to be yet another Nissan Rogue.
My first experience with the Rogue/Quasqai wasn’t great, poor example that had literally parts falling off. Second experience on the other side of the country was vastly improved. Much better version, better spec and newer.
Today’s version was an improvement again. It has literally every toy Nissan can cram into a car, save for a great engine and great handling.
No leather seats, not a biggie, but they were comfortable and supportive.
The bad- the car was clean on first impression. Once I got into it, I got a strong smell of smoke from a previous occupant. The boot wasn’t cleaned either. There were 2 pairs of sunglasses, one pair of reading glasses, a book and a travel mug in it.
I don’t know what deal Nissan have with the rental companies here but I’ve rented about 10 cars in the last 5 months and most of them have been Nissans. It’d be nice to get something different for a change.
