It's a strange one indeed. It's not even a great looking car - especially round the front and rear. Possibly it was owned by a Company Director who just stuck it in for servicing and repairs as and when needed and put the costs through the business.

More likely a retired life-long BMW customer who, in his time, there dealer had worked out how to fleece to perfection.

I assume they've always wanted an E63, bought it for peanuts, spent a wad of cash making it the best it could ever be and then uttered those unforgettable words "this one's a keeper" without realising what a portent of doom they are.

It's had four owners and has done very nearly 200k, so this is presumably nearer the truth.

"The current owner is a real perfectionist and has spent an eye-watering £21,000 over the last year with BMW"
Eye-watering being the key word there.

That is completely barmy and still would be even if it did end up as a keeper, there are a lot better ways to spend that amount of money. He/she should have bought a TVR....

I thought an E63 was a Mercedes? I know a guy who turbocharged his R32, spending around £40K in the process. Sold the car for about 18 grand recently.

Apart from the wheels that is rather a peach.
Costs of 6 Series do get a little out of hand. A mate of mine bought a 650i a couple of years ago and it fleeced him for 5k in a year and he bailed out as it was supposed to be the cheap runabout.

I managed to run a V10 M5 for 18 months without it costing me more than £1.5k in maintenance.

That model 6-series is horrible inside and out.
In the words of Charli XCX: “I crashed your car into a bridge......I don’t care.”
Would probably be an improvement.

But that's a bit "lipstick on a pig".

Some nice errors in the ad as well. Between the beginning and the end of the blurb, the 0-60 speed has increased by half a second and its gained an extra seat.

Anyone who restores a classic? This is the best way to buy them - IF the person lavishing the £21k actually did it right, and was not worried about loads of further money-pit potential and wanting to get out...

^ ... and they drove it to get "all the 4's" on the mileo too !!
KGF and Stone Cold Classics are two places that come to mind instantly who must have access to a load of people with more money than sense when it comes to nostalgic cars

While it’s a car I’ve always wanted, I can’t understand anyone paying that much for one. If it were mine, I’d have to drive it. Funny thing is, it’s hardly any faster than my 7 seater X5. Maybe more fun to drive though..

18 years old and still on its original tyres, which will be at least 10 years out of date now. Old Ford prices baffle me, special as the RS Focus is in relative terms, it's still just a hot version of a regular hatchback and the prices people will pay is beyond my comprehension. Especially when it will just end up as a garage queen and never be used for its intended purpose.
