After all these years, that's it?
The nice folk from Wolfsburg must be bricking it

From that 1 photo it looks like a sporty Kia (not necessarily a bad thing...).
Looks more exciting than a Polo and a lot nicer to look at than if Merc had done it.

I agree, that's a mature yet good looking supermini. Beats the new Polo if the latest uncovered spy-shots are anything (and of course, will be) to go by which looks very bland

It is so black I can hardly see it at all.

With Fiat doing so well with the retro 500 I do wish they'd bring back the five stripe badge - it would make it far more recognisable.

That looks almost as anonymous as the Tipo. I know the original models weren't the most exiting design either but they were at least handsome and somewhat recognisable.

Has it not been put out to pasture yet, the Punto?

Looks perfectly acceptable to me in that photo, nothing too polarising or irrational. Purely on looks, I'd happily entertain one.

Polos have never appealed to me, not even the G40 versions of yore. Trying too hard to be Golfs, and failing miserably. I like this, on the evidence of this pic. I shall await sightings in the wild before I pass judgement.

I don't think I've seen a Punto any newer than a 62 plate. I genuinely thought they'd stopped making them.

It's incredible the "Grande Punto" as was has been going virtually unchanged for so long. I liked mine when I had it and it was certainly one of the best looking small cars at the time, with that "mini Maserati" look. Then Fiat facelifted it and cocked it up somewhat. That new one looks OK to my eyes.

Sicily's rental fleet seems to be mainly Corsas and the new C3s at the moment. We were there a couple of weeks ago and got a Corsa from Europcar with whatever the most underpowered petrol engine was. This was from the 'Panda or equivalent' class, so I suppose it was half a step up from that size-wise.

The Mk1 and Grande Punto were fabulous looking things when they came out. This is just a bit meh

Are the Grande Punto and Corsa the same car underneath or did I imagine that?

Are the Grande Punto and Corsa the same car underneath or did I imagine that? You are correct. The Corsa got a fairly hefty facelift at least, eventually, but is still on the same underpinnings.

That really is just a generic super mini, isn't it? But then what else are they supposed to do? If you get one with a zippy engine and gearbox combo it should be a hoot.

I suppose the only thing going for that, will be that it will be cheap; it'll have to be as it just looks so meh.
The original Grand Punto was a fantastic looking car, until it had a facelift.

From what you can see it looks OK, and as others have said, far from the worst or blandest looking in the class - a sporty version might be quite fun.
I went in a new Tipo that a friend had hired a couple weeks ago and it was quite a nice place to be.

This is the logo I had on my Mirafiori. I had a brass keyring where the 'A' had another rhomboid underneath it of a solid colour - red, I think, which I thought looked pretty neat.

My Coupe has that version of the badge on it. I can confirm they're terrible for fading........
