I don't know much about bikes so can't pretend to know much about this one. What size engine is in it?

What a lovely looking (little) thing that is, to be sure. Never sat on one of these, but I can't imagine it's even as big as a GSX400R or ZXR400, and I found those really uncomfortable after a mere handful of miles! Good luck!!

Yes they’re small but I still bend.
I don’t envisage doing more than 20-30 miles per stint on this thing and only on sunny days.

Looks very nice but don’t 2 strokes make an awful noise and smell of hell. Am I right in thinking it’s all about weight and therefore great handing?
So if it was a car, what’s the equivalent, something like a lotus 7 or original mk1 Elise

I've just had Crazy Frog in my mind. Hope you enjoy the project - they can be addictive.

Looks proper retro. But, why the asymmetric exhausts?

Looks proper retro. But, why the asymmetric exhausts? He's dropped it already!!
I believe it's to do with where the exhaust ports are located (being a twin) and that in turn dictates the routing of the pipes. They also have to avoid other big, immovable things like the swing arm, back wheel, chain etc.
I could well be wrong though - wouldn't be the first time.

Even strimmers now have 4 stroke engines That does look a modern classic in the making / already made. I'm sure you'll have great fun with it. When I was 17 (1977) everybody wanted the Yamaha and Suzuki 250 two-stroke twin road bikes, as you could pilot a 250cc on L plates back then. But I do remember that reliability was not a strong point as they eat spark plugs and needed de-coking way too often.

Firstly 2 strokes are the best things ever in term of power to weight. So yes: an Elise or a Seven would be a car equivalent.
2 stroke smoke is one of the best smells on earth. Better than one of your own farts.
The assymetric pipes are an MC21 thing. 2 strokes need an exhaust expansion chamber and for this model Honda routed the lower cylinder chamber under a swing arm that is humped on the right hand side.
It’s a1993 bike. These were never sold in the UK officially but there is a huge community of NSR250 nut jobs. I’m debating whether to chain, tyre, MoT and register it now or after I’ve spend time and money on it. Most likely the latter.
