I feel like we seem to place an overemphasis on styling, and that most buyers don't really care what a car looks like as long as it meets their needs. Look at the Prius and Nissan Juke. Polarising looks but still selling in spades. Do you think the Juke would have been as hugely successful if it was styled like one of the boring SEAT, Skoda, VW SUVs? A juke starts at about £16k, an Ateca starts at £22k. Although i class an Ateca\Tiguan a class above in size a juke rival to me would be the Arona/t-roc , and if they were on sale as long as the juke then I think they’d be more successful than the juke

People used to buy stuff like the 2CV back in the day, so there'll always be weirdos who like to buy unusual looking things.

The 2CV still looks OK in my humble opinion. Considering it's original on sale date I think it did/does well.

I thought we’d agreed they were both crap, especially inside?

But the jukes interior is pretty shit too. If it was on looks I’d have the Arona

A colleague hasa T-Roc so I often see it in the car park and its not entirely boring to look at.
However, it's been on sale for at least a year now and I can't recall having seen many so as a Juke rival it's not doing very well, despite the more 'premium' badge.

One of my team has had one on order since early this year, the original delivery date was sometime in May, the latest date is at the end of October. I don’t know whether that’s demand, WLTP issues or something else. She’s pretty excited, her first brand new car and she’s had a selection of Corsa hire cars since getting a promotion in January.
